Have Been To Caretta Beach Hotel 2 Years Running W
Have been to Caretta Beach Hotel 2 years running with my six children and would not hesitate to go back. Could maybe do with a little more entertainment for the younger children but overall it catered for all our needs. Food on site was fairly basic but good value for money. Hope to return again in 2009.

At The Moment I Think I Would Go Back To Claretta
At the moment I think I would go back to Claretta beach, need time to think about it. In the second week we did the 1/2 board scheme, good value, although the Pandesia restaurant staff could be a little nicer, we felt like second class citizen when we handed our tickets over. Kalamaki as a resort looks unfinished and has little to offer other than bars and eateries.

The Beach Is Great And The Island Is Lovely. Staye
The beach is great and the island is lovely. Stayed at the Carette Beach Apt, and they facilities are great but the standard of cleaning is very very poor the pools are dirty. Do not take the ice in any drinks at the bars in Carette beach area as some people were ill, possibly from the water.

I Took My Mother Away For Two Weeks As She's Retir
I took my mother away for two weeks as she's retiring this year. When we arrived at Caretta Beach Hotel in Kalamaki it looked amazing. We were given a room directly above the disco, which was OK as we thought, only they didn't tell us the disco finishes about 2am every night! There were cockroaches in the bathroom, but it was 42 degrees so we assumed the cockroaches were probably having a breeding frenzy and choose not to make a fuss.
We asked to change rooms as we weren't sleeping at night due to the noise from the disco. The hotel agreed to move us immediately...approximately 1 metre away to the room on the opposite side. We moved to be away from the family next door who left their young kids alone at night so they could go to the disco. The kids (bless them) would kick the ball around the apartment until 1am, or until they got bored and fell asleep. The rep wasn't interested (mind you who would be? There was a gorgeous blonde stood at the bar at the time I was telling him, so obviously he wasn't in the slightest bit interested in what I had to say)!!
So my mother and I booked into another apartment, which we paid for ourselves, and we had a much nicer five days in a lovely little apartment!
I would not go back to Zante again (Zante's geared towards young adults and families, as there are lots of disco's, clubs and tavernas that are open until the wee small hours). I certainly would never book a holiday with Kosmar again!
