We Loved Thassos. Everything About The Island And
We loved Thassos. Everything about the Island and Skala Potamia, which is very quiet and old world Greece but the Green Sea Apartments, although magnificently situated on the loveley beach front, were a huge disappointment. The walls and curtains in our room were covered with mildew ( we were told it was beacause it was on the sea front and that the curtains were washed each year!)and so crammed with furniture that we couldn't open the balconey doors. The filter on the pool wasn't working so it was green and out of bounds. For this we paid £900! We comnplained to Thompson, who after 3 hours of negotition agreed to move us to the Susie Studios which were basic but clean. Go to Thassos, it's great but not the Green Sea apartments.

Fantastic holiday, one of the best. We stayed in Thassos town and fell in love with it straight away. Our favorite beach was Makriammos - a bit further away but definitely worth the walk. We discovered a cafe called Karnagio which must be one of the most relaxing places we have ever been to and our favorite restaurant was the THASSIAN on the main shopping street opposite the water taxi. We were made to feel so welcome there and the food was always delicious.
We don't normally go anywhere twice but we will definitely be going back to Thassos!

It is the most unspoilt, non-commecial Greek island we have found and is suitable for couples to take a relaxing break or for families who don't want to have to be on edge when the kids have a little wander. How life should feel all the time!!!

Green Sea Studios - We Went To Thassos, Skala Poti
Green Sea Studios - We went to Thassos, Skala Potimais in late May 2005 and had the most boring holiday we've ever had. This island is really for people who are 50 years + all the restaurants are VERY basic and should the weather let you down there is literally NOTHING to do. We travelled into the main Thassos town and found it to be very small with no real shops or tourist areas etc. We have been to a lot of the Greek islands over the years and would only recommend this island for people to enjoy a ghost town feel and disappointing restraunts.
Thats the whole point of going to Thassos. Relax have a mythos and forget about things for a while.we are in our early 30 s and have been to thassos 6 times. If you want shops go to meadowhall, if you want tourist areas try skegness
Green Sea Studios looks nice in the Thomson brochure' but the resort map shows a disco and a nightclub within 80 metres! This doesn't sound very laid-back and peaceful!
I wonder if they realised that Thassos won an award for 2005 for holiday overall beating all other destinations including Maldives and the Carribean.
I wonder what the reviewer expected or wanted from the holiday ?
