Pelion, Lost Unicorn Hotel

The Lost Unicorn Hotel overlooks the ancient plane tree in the square at Tsagarada. The terrace is beautiful, filled with flowers and roses and full of birdsong, including a nightingale at night. It's quite a small hotel, with about 8 bedrooms, and it is furnished with antiques. There's a library, and the guest lounge has a wonderful grand piano. The food is great, and you can have a full English breakfast if you want it. For dinner it's fillet steak or slow cooked lamb, and pudding includes pies and flans using local fruit.

The hotel is run by an English woman and her Greek husband, so you get the best of both worlds. I will stay here again for sure.
