Lassi, Makris Yialos Apartments

having just spent 2 weeks in Lassi, Makris Yialos Apartments in July, the rooms were clean and adequate, and in a great location, close to the beach and centre of the resort. We found the Tv round the pool annoying, as it was stuck on the same music channel all day every day which played the same songs. Its a good job the pool table was free as it was very broken and I wouldnt pay to play it! Apart from that everything was clean and there was a nice pool which is well looked after and great for kids.

It wouldn't take much effort to bring this Makris Yialos Apartment complex up a grade. Bathroom was very shabby and not very clean to be honest. Regulars at bar who seemed to be prioritised over other guests. Air conditioning needs reviewed very expensive 45 euros per week per unit so if your'e in a two roomed apt very very expensive. Resort and beach great which made up for the accomodation.

A home from home! We stayed at Makris Yialos for 2 weeks in May this year. The complex is well hidden from the main road, we had stayed in Lassi 2 years previous and had not really known it was there before now! We were allocated appt 5 which is under the stairs on the ground floor. The appt was really spacious, we had a large double bedroom and a big lounge area with 2 day beds, a table and 4 chairs. The patio was very big too, and as I mentioned before very private, even though it was right next to the main road. We also had a washing line which we used an awful lot! A nice surprise was to have a bath in the bathroom, my daughter is young and does prefer a bath to a shower, the bath may be a little small for an adult but it was good to have one. Hot water was plentiful whenever we needed it, unlike some other years we have stayed. The owner, was so welcoming, he was a great entertainer and friend by the end of the holiday too. They had a great cook, I loved her omlettes for brunch! The other people who were staying in the resort were so friendly too, many return again and again, as we will be next year, and the overall feeling is a happy safe friendly place to stay. We have made some great friends this year. After reading the review below we had no problem walking to Argostoli, it takes half an hour or so, and my 5 year old managed it ok with no moaning!

We will be returning back to Kefalonia in the near future, this hotel was absolutely beautiful, you can tell most of the pool area is newly built but when completely finished it will be a very nice complex. Might have to go back next year to see if he left the shaded area above the pool table! The pool was very good for all ages as it never went deeper that 5ft. I would advise people staying to take up the opportunity to go on the discover Kefalonia trip organised by First Choice great day out absolutely knackered by the end of it. The rep taking us around had lived on the island for over 10yrs so she had great knowledge of the island, eg the earthquake. The resort itself of Lassi was very friendly, enough taverns and restaurants to eat at a different one every night for a 2 wk holiday. The beach literally out the back gate is the total truth although quite a few steps down could be a problem for the older generation. All in all a great holiday and will definitely be returning at some point. Hope this helps anyone who is undecided about staying.

The Makris Yialos Apartments are good clean basic apartments. Fantastic location, lovely people, 5 mins walk (close enough to go back for anything you forget!) from Makris Yialos beach and taverna. Supermarket next door. Lassi is a bit commercial. This is an excellent place for children; safe and enclosed and nice pool. 1m at shallow to 2.4m deep.. lots of loungers etc

We visited in early June and would go back again. The staff are very friendly and will do anything to help. When it was my daughters Birthday they even got us a cake to celebrate. Nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are basic but clean and large enough. The resort is nice, beach only 5 minutes away. Lots of improvements also taking place within the pool area so if your going in July you may be able to enjoy the flatscreen TV that was going up and the fire.

Its so lovely there food is good, people are friendly place is mega clean and poolside food is brill and cheap - what more can you ask for AND beach is 5 mins away.

If you want reasonably priced, clean but basic, accommodation, within a short walk to the beach, shops and all other amenities, but with its own, good sized pool, then the Makris Yialos Apartments in Lassi are the place for you!

We did a last minute booking for the first time and were slightly worried by what we would find but to our amazement, it was probably the best holiday we have ever had. The accommodation was basic but clean, the owner Mackie was fabulous and keep us entertained for many a night, even when England crashed and burned in the World Cup! Nothing was too much trouble for him, even ordering us several takeaways and getting them delivered, he treated the pool like his baby and kept it so clean. We met some really great people on this holiday and so did the kids. If you are planning on going to Makris Yialos, I would 100% recommend it, you will have a fab time!

Yialos Apartments in Kefalonia are an excellent place to stay, and great value for money.

The steps to enter are quite difficult to negotiate with luggage, or for any one with bad legs or a pushchair, but the rooms were big and really clean. There was a friendly atmosphere. It is just a short walk to the beach, and there is a supermarket and car hire next door. There is also a great pool (almost to yourself).

I liked it so much, I will probably go back in September!
