Hotel Haris Is Ok For A Week, But You Could Soon G
Hotel Haris is OK for a week, but you could soon get fed up. The only activity lined up was a BBQ + Bingo night, which was cancelled anyway due to lack of interest.
A half hour walk into town is sometimes welcome after a day lazing 'round the pool, but not ideal for everyone.
The staff were very nice, very friendly. However the main road view from the balcony was not totally to my taste.
No use for anybody on an actual Self Catering budget, as the facilities are a joke. They'd be better off removing them and freeing up more space in the rooms. We struggled to get a brew going in the morning.
However, I have heard that Greece is not quite up to speed with the requirements of the Self Caterer, and generally slightly generous with their star ratings.
Hanioti is a great little town, quite lively but at the same time still very Greek.
I would recommend the Haris to a friend but I'd be sure to explain the situation first, I wouldn't want them to think that it was my idea of luxury.

The Haris Hotel Is Now Sold By Kosmar As Self Cate
The Haris Hotel is now sold by Kosmar as self catering accomodation, (Haris studios) but if you wish to self cater, forget it. There is a small unit housing a sink, fridge and 2 electric rings, and a selection of cutlery and crockery. There are no worktops, or table and chairs, so preparing food is nigh on impossible, unless you wish to drag in the small plastic table and chairs from the balcony. It takes 30 minutes to boil a small pan of water as there is no kettle.
The walk to the beach/centre is either via an underpass, or along a very busy main road, both totally unlit at night. We ended up paying for taxis to return at night.
Although the rooms were regulary cleaned, bed linen is only changed once a week, and the towels were very thin and still looked dirty after laundering. The snacks on offer from the bar were reasonably priced, and pretty good.
If you want a quiet, away from it all base, with a nice clean pool, but few facilities, then the Haris studios are fine, otherwise go elsewhere!
