Ilisia Pedia Apartments

I spent a week at Ilisia Pedia Apartments and having read some of the previous reviews on various webpages I was quite apprehensive. Improvements must have been made however as there no cracked tiles or electric wires on display as were stated elsewhere, nor were there any thefts as far as I was aware.

The rooms are basic, but they are spacious and clean. There is no safe to lock valuables in, however you can lock the wardrobes, also you can lock the internal door to your room, making items left inside quite secure.

The rooms tend to get very hot as there is no air conditioning. Ours was on the ground floor, which made it worse, as we weren't prepared to leave doors and windows open at night whilst we slept, which turned the room into somewhat of an oven!

The bar man, Vangelis, is really friendly and nice. You get the impression that if you had any problems though the owners would be unsympathetic to them.

In terms of location, Ilisia Pedia is only about a 5 minute walk to the main street in Stalis which has lots of restaurants and bars. The accommodation itself is located on a side road which is next to a busy main road, which you have to cross each day to get to the centre of Stalis. There is a great English pub however, called the Coach and Horses, which is nearby. Also the nearest Supermarket is only a couple of minutes away.

Rooms come with a fridge, with a freezer section at the top, and two gas rings to heat pans etc. Unfortunately ours was broke and was only fixed the day before we left. The manager did let us use the kettle behind the bar however if we needed boiling water. The radios which are claimed to be in each room do not work and look pretty dated.

The accommodation has a good sized pool which is cleaned daily from what I saw.

Overall it was a really good holiday, there were no major problems with the accommodation, the resort is nice, and I would consider going back again. It was booked as a late deal, and proved to be good value for money.

This is a good place for 18-30s, close to everything, friendly and generous bar staff (all that free Raki did go to my head a bit)loads of young couples, groups of 18-30 friends. My fiancee and I have already decided that we will be going back to Crete and to the Ilisia Pedia Appartments.

Stalis, Ilisia Pedia Apartments - The rooms were very basic but they are clean and spacious. There is no satelite tv and the radios in the rooms do not work. Good size swimming pool which is cleaned daily. Only a 2-3 minute walk to nearest supermarket. Not really much to do on the site for young children.

There were 5 thefts from locked apartments in one week at Ilisia Pedia Apartments. There are no amenities on site. Very loud music from bar until 3am. Despite their brochure claiming each apartment has its own TV & radio, they don't exist. Strong smell of sewage in all bathrooms. Pool never had filtration system working and had far too much chlorine in it. The terrace TV was monopolised by the staff and was only tuned into Greek stations. Absolutely nothing for kids here.

One to be avoided. Very disappointing. Supposed to be a 3 star rating...........Not worth 1 star.
