Anastasia, Greek For A Great Holiday
We have had yet another great relaxing holiday at the Anastasia. However for the benefit of those who may not have read any of my previous posts, I will spend a bit of time in depth describing what has us coming back every year to spend my holiday with the Anastasia family.
The hotel is situated at the side of the Old National Road which can be very busy, but between the road and the hotel is a service road, the free covered car parking; the free kids play area, and a line of trees, so the road noise is minimal. The hotel is fully contained so there is no danger to children. Crossing the road could not be safer, as there is a well-lit, well maintained underpass. This allows safe passage down to the beach road. The position of the hotel is mid-way between two bus stops, which allows great access to the rest of this beautiful Island, on what is a very good bus service.
Hotel Layout. The hotel is laid out in six blocks in between which are some well-maintained lovely gardens. There are four pools, two kids and two adults. A pool bar with its own seating, a covered seated area in which can be found the pool table and table football game. This area also has a large TV screen. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating. Close to the restaurant is a mini market in the form of vending machines providing all sorts of items from milk, sweets, biscuits, cigarettes to blow up Lilos. Great if you run short of something, negating the need to go down to the nearest supermarket.
Other communal areas include reception, an indoor lounge, (another TV), with a balcony, and it is this area that you will find a PC to give you access to the Internet if you have not brought your own device to utilise the free Wi-Fi. Not forgetting the children’s play area, which is ideal for families with young children.
Hotel Accommodation. Having visited this hotel many times, we have experienced several different rooms, and each time we have enjoyed the free air conditioning, and the free use of a fridge, not forgetting the TV. The rooms, as is the rest of the hotel, always kept very clean.
Hotel Food. The food is excellent; Chef produces a 14 day menu, with around 70 choices daily. I have to say at this point, if you are looking for typical British holiday fare in the form of pie and chips, fish and chips etc. etc. then this is the wrong place for you. There are plenty of International meals, as well as Greek dishes.
Hotel Staff. I have saved the best bit for last. The staff is undoubtedly this hotels greatest asset. They give you a typical warm friendly welcome and believe me when I say that they are very genuine in that regard. Unlike many parts of Spain where you receive the College manufactured welcome, this group of people are genuine and will do their utmost to make you feel welcome. I can honestly say that I feel like part of their family every time I visit. If you encounter any problem whilst here, do not hesitate to take it to the staff and they will try their utmost, within reason, to solve it. Do not be like some others that wait to they get home then post a bad review, without ever giving the staff the chance to rectify any issues. That is a coward’s way.
All these points combine to guarantee a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere and ultimately a relaxed and enjoyable holiday.
PS. Note how many times I used the word FREE.
PPS. The large amount of holiday makers that come here are repeat guests, ask yourself why?

I have only just found this site while browsing for a different hotel. I have been to the Anastasia two years running and have booked again for this year. There is no hotel like it in Stalis, as the staff here make for a memorable holiday.
From the moment you arrive you are made to feel as part of the family and you are even given a great send off.
The Hotel itself is situated between 2 bus stops, and the buses, which are of a good standard give you good access to the rest of the island.
The Hotel grounds are beautifully kept and enjoyable. The meals are of a very high standard and varied. The favourite is the soups.
All the staff are very welcoming from the cleaner to the owner Micheal. If you are considering this Hotel DO NOT hesitate you will not be disappointed.
I am looking forward to my next visit to the Hotel Anastasia with a relish

The Friendly Hotel Anastasia Is Situated Between S
The friendly Hotel Anastasia is situated between Stalis and Malia,
Firstly, I would like to thank all the staff for an excellent stay at the Hotel Anastasia, as without them we wouldn't have had en excellent holiday. Well, what can I say? Although my family are all grown up, this is a good hotel. It is family run, and recommended for family holidays and all ages, and what made it really good and special was the friendliness of the staff at the Anastasia. It was a quiet and peaceful relaxing hotel.
The hotel itself is absolutely fantastic. It is small and friendly, even down to the cleanliness of hotel room and pools, which could not be faulted. Our Room was cleaned every day. The owners were very friendly, and they even joined in on the karaoke, quiz night and bingo, and the man behind the bar called numbers out that hadn't even been drawn, but it was a laugh. The pools were clean, and the pool side terrace was cleaned every day. All the staff at the Anastasia, down to the cleaners were very friendly too.
Even though we didn't have children, there was a kids club and entertainment, which does give parents quality time on there own. I know there was a small fee, but having no children I don't know how much it was. There was a PlayStation, pool table, big screen TV and table football, and it was nice to see the English and German children mix.
The food was excellent, and to suit all ages. It included meat and vegetarian dishes, and being a chef myself I am fussy, but the presentation was god, and there was a menu for children, which included pizza, chicken nuggets and fish fingers etc. You won't go hungry, and there is lots to go around. Lunches are served in the afternoon between 12 and 4pm, and they are very good prices and good value for money, so you don't even have to go and find a takeaway.
Situated between Stalis and Malia. It's about 20 to 15 minutes walk to both resorts. It was nice to have an evening stroll down to in the evening, with Tavernas, bars and gift shops etc. It is commercialised, but it doesn't affect the hotel, as it is a short walk under the underpass to get to Beach Road, which also takes you to the beach.
To summarise; it was a fantastic holiday, enjoyed by us both. And all the other guests were friendly, and we made a lot of friends, some of which have returned and stayed at different times of the season, and they have said that the Anastasia is the same whenever you choose to go. It was sad to go home. We met a couple in their seventies who are going to book to go back next year, and we are to.
Once again, thanks Hotel Anastasia. See you in 2006!
This holiday was both mine and my wife's first visit to Greece. Neither of us really knew what to expect, and we were starting to get a little concerned as everybody got off the bus and we left civilisation behind.
When we got to the hotel there was a cup of coffee and food waiting for arriving guests. We were shown to our room by the person on reception, who was very friendly. The room was very clean and fresh smelling, and the first thing that we noticed was a notice in the bathroom warning us not to flush toilet paper, as the drains were very fragile. The next day we explored the hotel after a very satisfying breakfast, and it seemed lovely. The good food continued throughout the entire stay with a wide selection of foods from European countries to choose from.
The rep was very helpful, if a little difficult to contact at times, due to being based in the next town. The biggest problem was that whenever she tried to contact us we were out and about somewhere, but she always left a note under the door to say when she would try again.
One evening about halfway through our week, my wife turned on a light at about 9.30pm and the electrics in our room all went out. After hearing horror stories about foreign hotels I went to reception to report the fault, but I didn't really expect anything to be done until the next day. To our surprise the fault was repaired within half an hour. In fact, the repair man was at the room almost as quickly as I got back there.
The cleaners at the hotel were efficient beyond belief, even folding up any dirty clothes that we left out anywhere in the room, and placing them in neat piles on the bed.
During our stay we ventured out on foot to Lardos, Pefkos and Lindos, and we found them all to be lovely places to visit. All in all we had no reason to complain about any aspect of our holiday, other than an excursion that was cancelled for alleged rough seas. Even this was dealt with by the rep in a very professional way.
We both thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and we will definitely be returning in the not too distant future.
