Fan Apartments

The Fan apartments in Stalis are brilliant! We have just been for 2 weeks, and already I want to return! The actual rooms are quite small, but they are okay for the amount of time you actually spend in there! The cleaners were constantly coming and cleaning and changing the sheets, which was brilliant. The veranda area was quite big, and it meant that most of our spare time was sat relaxing out there. The only problem that I had with the room was the shower! Water went everywhere because it was so small, which meant the bathroom was turned into a lake! Also, the shower head had a nifty trick of falling off and whacking you on the head!!

The gardens that surround the apartments are well maintained, and the pool area is really clean. There were always enough sun beds, and people never tended to start sunbathing until around 11.00am anyway!! The pool is one depth, which leads to everyone congregating around the steps, but it did lead to funny conversations!! Probably the best part of the Fan has to be the pool bar! The food is gorgeous, and there is table tennis, a pool table and PlayStation to keep you entertained! Also, every night there would be a movie shown, and they were all recent releases! The man who runs the bar is the friendliest person in this world, and his English is excellent. He makes the meanest milkshakes!! If you do go to the Fan look out for the one eyed fat cat who we named Mimi!!

Stalis itself is lovely! The Fan is just a 2 minute walk from all the shops and bars, which are all along the beach road. I would recommend paying a visit to The Britannia Inn. The food is good and the evening quiz, bingo and funny video clips are brilliant! Also, for huge pizzas go to El Greco. It is a lovely beach front restaurant.

If you're thinking about a day trip, Knossos is a must. This Minoan palace is huge, and it's a very interesting day out!

Personally, I would love to visit Stalis again and stay at the Fan apartments. We had a fantastic holiday and I didn't want to come home!!
