The Staff Were Really Helpful And The Evenings Wer

The staff were really helpful and the evenings were enjoyable. I enjoyed the entertainment. No bad points. I would recomend the Blue Bay Escape in St Spyridon, as a place to go for a quiet break.

I Went On Holiday For A Week Starting The 29th Of

I went on holiday for a week starting the 29th of september. Transfer was only an hour as it was near the end of season for humans but for wasps and mozzies it was the start of season. I would recomend free shuttle busses to the nearest town as we were in the middle of no-where. I booked the Aquapark twice with the travelagents down the road and the cancelled twice. The hotel was a bit more expensive with day trips but are proberbally more reliable.

Good points;

Food;

Breakfast- a bit repetitive after a few days, i stopped going after 4 days of eating as there wasnt much choice of food.

Lunch- Served by the pool so there are a few wasps and mozzies around you but tastes good enough.

Snaks- Ice cream, Hotdogs, Burger and Pizza. Staff are friendly around the snack bar and the snacks are respectable. Served inside (bar) after 6pm we didnt find this out untill our last night.

Dinner- Different theme of foods everyday and theres a kids buffet that serves chips, chicken nuggets or fish fingers same everyday.

overall the food tasted great and service was great waiters were friendly considering the same staff worked every day and night. Before i went i read about a miserable man that walks around the restaurant at breakfast and dinner and the pool at lunch, but when i got there he never stopped smiling.

Staff;

Waiters- friendly enough as i said they were there the crack of dawn so what do you expect?

Reception- No problem with the day staff but when i asked for a wake up call about 12 o'clock at night before the bar shut there was a miserable man that i asked twice.

me-"hello"

Him-":("

Me-"could i have a wake up call please?"

Him-"yes..."

Me- "7:30"

Him- "no"

Me- im confused

Him- Shouts "room number"

Me- 1439

Him-"..." galres at me

Him- "time?"

Me- "7:30"

I then walked off i didn't think he deserved a thank you when i had been shouted at like that. I also asked him a second time and got greeted the same.

Bar staff;

Fine no problem.

Maid;

Same as bar staff, friendly.

Overall staff were ok but a bit dissapointing night staff.

Clean;

Whole place was spottless not a fault.

Rooms;

Asked for a family room, we got 2 single beds and 3 sofas. There were 2 adults and 2 teenage daughters, we managed as we swapped beds everynight.

Bad points;

Mosquitoes;

A total nightmare, it ruined our holiday. We were all fed up by the 3rd day. I advise you not to go the end of September or beginning of October. We read reviews and were told mozzies were not a problem. Spent at least 50 euros on repelant and afterbite and also took 2 bottles with us. My daughter counted them on her legs the fourth day and she had 90 that was only on her legs.

Wasps;

Brought swatters from the shop next door (60 cent) worth every penny- i would advise these. Wasps were a nightmare. We didn't have the balcony doors open much but the maid left them open after cleaning one day and we sprayed repelant around the room just incase there were any unwanted insects in our room, i was woken up to a dozy (huge) wasp and sting on my wrist at 5:30 one morning. As i am allergic to wasps my hand swole and i had to go and see the hotel nurse, i had a needle in my bottom and i had to pay 100 euros for seeing her then extra for the drugs/tablets. I was able to claim this back as i had travel insurance.

Overall these unwanted insects ruined our holiday we would not go back if we won a holiday there. We could not fault the hotal as it was amazing but i wish we were warned about the amount of wasps and mozzies.

We Have Just Returned From A Wonderful Relaxed 2 W

We have just returned from a wonderful relaxed 2 weeks at the Blue Bay Escape resort.

The hotel is spotlessly clean and the grounds are lovely. The staff are polite and helpful. I was embarrassed at how many people didn't say please and thank you to them, they work very hard. The hotel is mostly British but there are also families from Denmark, Russia, Italy, France, Germany and Greece. The pool is large and there are loads of sunbeds... yes lots of people seem to set their alarms to get their chosen beds. (we had a bad night and went down one morning at 6am and there were towels everywhere!...). Pool towels are not provided but we bought ours on arrival for 6 euros each, saves the weight and space.

The food was fine if not very exciting. There was always lots of choice of both hot and cold food and separate evening selection for children (or adults who wish chicken nuggets/ fish fingers and chips). The food does repeat every week, but it does in lots of hotels. If you don't eat everything each night, and there are lots of options, then like us it should not be an issue.

The hotel run a shuttle service to Kassiopi and Acharavi. Once in the morning and again in the evening. You need to book in advance at reception. Both places offer cash machines and the usual holiday shopping.

We hired a car and went to Albania with Kassiopi Travel, next door to the supermarket on the beach. The chap there was very helpful and both the trip and car were fantastic, MUCH cheaper than from the reps too.

This hotel is not for anyone that does not want to be around children and young families... I think this is who the hotel aim at. The children make a noise and this is because they are having fun... 90% plus of entertainment is aimed at the children. So come and try the art of conversation with friends...

We were also bitten by mozzies but not as badly as some would make out. Candles and sprays are available at the hotel market, reasonable prices. They certainly didn't spoil our holiday in any way.

We had a great holiday because that's what we went to have, met some lovely people and had a laugh along the way. We hope that you will go and do the same.

The Maids Were Friendly And The Resort Was Clean A

The maids were friendly and the resort was clean and large. There is almost nothing there and Corfu town is boring and expensive. I would not go again, I also think it isn't suitable for children.

Just Returned From Blue Bay Escape And It Was A Gr

Just returned from Blue Bay Escape and it was a great place to take a holiday.

Food was fantastic if you tried all of the available dishes. Chicken nuggets and fish fingers are repetitive if that's all you have at home.

The kebabs in the day were great but ask for no salt! Wednesday is BBQ day by the pool and again, excellent.

The whole place is kept spotless by an army of cleaners and gardeners and the staff are friendly, if you are friendly to them. If you are rude to them (remember your manners) they will take an age to serve you. If you make the effort to get to know them there are no problems with them. Just by smiling and saying hello to the staff helps you out a lot.

Entertainment is a bit naff but we were in a party of 10 so we made our own entertainment.

Soccer school is great for the younger kids but is a bit pricey for what you get.

Went to Hydropolis, which was ok as a water park. It was big enough to cope with a lot of people but not as big as others elsewhere we've been on holiday. Booked it though Tanya travel, which is just down the small road.

Trips to Acharavi and Kassiopi, day or night, are recommended, even if it's just for a change of scenery.

the apartments are big enough for 4 and they are good enough for what you use them for. Sleeping and getting ready for the day or night.

Went to Molo's one night to watch the football and which was fine.

Valentino's is much better but the Lagoon caf is pretty poor. Overpriced and not a lot of food on your plate.

we were lucky enough to go to a Greek festival by Valentino's one evening and that was very busy. Stalls selling jewellery, cds, food and naff souvenirs. Owners didn't hassle you though and this was the same in all of the shops that we visited in the different resorts.

tried the water sports at the bottom of the hotel, and it was 15 euros per person on whatever rides you wanted. Went out for about 15 - 20 minutes on the 'Big Mable'. (Inflatable sofa!). Good fun and worth every cent.

Pool was great with plenty of sun beds but be warned, that the once German trait of reserving sun beds is now fully English. People were out after the pool bar shut at mid night putting towels out and getting the parasols.

there are mozzies flying about but not really a problem if you wear repellent and / or have the citronella candles from the shop. Only wasps we saw were flying around the soft drink dispenser in the pool bar.

the transfer is 2 hours and can get a bit hairy on the tight roads but it is worth it once you are there. You quickly forget it.

Overall, a great place to take a holiday and is definitely worth its 4 star plus rating.
