St George, South Star Studios Hotel

Hi, stayed at Stars in August and just booked to go back next year - as have other couples we met while there. It is a really relaxed, chiled out place. Kostas is a lovely man and DOES NOTmind if you eat elsewhere (as our friends we met did). I think people who read the very rare bad reviews here need to bear in mind that as we all know, some of our English 'sorts' let us down and give us all a bad name. Not one person when we were there had any problem whatsoever (there were all sorts - but all decent people). No one had problems with rooms not being cleaned, or the toilet bins - in fact we had our room very well cleaned and beds changed as specified. Kostas, Mila and family deserve respect and if people want to behave like bums then they will get the same attitiude back!! They work very hard and were very friendly and hospitable. We are well travelled and this is the first time we are going back to the same place, can't wait.

I found the Star Studios fantastic... Kostas is one of the nicest people I have ever met - a true gent. Milla is a lovely, lovely lady and an amazing cook. Kostas' parents are really lovely too.

I had read reviews for Stars before I left and was a little concerned about the possibility of Kostas not being pleased with you if you didn't eat there, as I really like to please myself on my holidays and I love deciding in the evening which restaurant I am going to try and exploring the town. I had absolutely nothing to be worried about - the reviews that suggested this are totally untrue. Kostas is amazing and so, so funny. The whole family work so, so hard.

The rooms are spacious and very clean. The cleaners clean them near enough every day. The pillows are even good! And that is quite something as we all like our own pillows!!! The studios are set in a very tranquil area and they are not overlooked at all. The pool (I think) could be bigger and there is the space for that, but it was never crowded when I was there, its just I love swimming.

When I ventured out to the town in the evening, I really enjoyed eating at Oceano and Panorama. The sunsets from those restaurants are amazing. I also enjoyed popping into Mad Mike's (Bar) for a drink or two when heading back to Stars. Lovely and very funny owner.

For me a fabulous and truly relaxing holiday...

Kosta & his wife Mila have given us the best holiday we could have ever of asked for.

Excellent home cooking, thanks for some of your recipes.

Lively entertainment which gets your feet tapping.

The quizzes were a plus for me as we enjoy doing them, but overall Kosta's was always polite and exremely funny as well.

we stayed at Stars in August this year.We booked last minute and were allocated stars on arrival in corfu.My family and i count ourselves very luckky to have been allocated Stars.Kostas and Mila done everything posible to make our holiday memorable.The room we had was spacious and clean.It looked like it had just been painted as well.There were some swings for the children and a very nice pool.the pool area had plenty of loungers and umbrellas.

The restaurant and Bar area were also clean and comfortable.The restaurant served top quality food and was not over priced like some places we have stayed.Like wise the bar prices were the same as the local bars.

St George south is a sleepy village with 2 main beaches which were clean and safe.There were a couple of restaurants and a few bars in the area.

Agreat place to stay could not have picked a better place.Room was clean and facilities were the best in St.George by far.We normally go out every evening but found ourselve staying in most nights or rushing back to the bar where we were entertained by Kostas.The food in the restaurant was great and we even got things cooked for us that were not even on the menu.

We will be back next year for certain and hopefully we will be made stars club members.

If you want peace and quiet and accommodation that isn't overlooked, then STARS is for you!!

Mila is a brilliant cook and the food at STARS is YUMMY!!! Kostas works hard to ensure that your holiday is perfect, and relaxing by the pool is easy.

The rooms are very clean and we enjoyed our brekfast on the terrace listening to the crickets!!

I have seen the odd bad review and all I can say is rubbish!! They are decent people who run a decent establishment. If you are foul mouth drunkards with no respect, then dont go there!!! It is such a shame that awful people can write bad reviews...don't regard them...go, you will have a lovely holiday!!

we have just come back from 2weeks at the stars apartments, its a brilliant

place to stay,very peaceful and relaxing, Kostas and Mela are wonderful hosts, in fact his whole family made us most welcome, Mela is a excellent cook, her meals spectactular, she does a mousaka to die for!!the rooms are spacious and very clean, a small kitchen area which allows self catering but, after eating Melas food thats all you want to do!!these people are very kind nothings too much trouble for them! i have no hesitation in recommending this resort to anyone,at stars you'll have a fantastic time!thank Kostas and Mela for everthing, even the quality has quality!

the location and staff were amazing. I had some great conversations with the owner. It was near the beach and some beautiful resteraunts.

We've been going to St George for 7 years. We've stayed at Stars 7 times in the last 5 years and in all those times have never found any of the problems that others review here. Rooms are much larger than some we've stayed in at other hotels, enough storage for us and our two boys. The kitchen is stocked with enough to make the basics and is exactly the same as all the other 2 star self catering hotels we've stayed at in Greece - if you want to be cooking full meals stay in a villa! The rooms are cleaned regularly, sheets changed regularly and the hotel and pool area are set in nice gardens.

Mila and Kostas are great and will do anything for you...you only have to ask. We've never found either of them rude, completely the opposite in fact - and we eat at the hotel but also out in the resort - they've never had a problem with us doing that...

Stars is a great hotel and the only thing that has ever spoilt it for us when we've been there other tourists who stay there who don't know how to behave when they are on holiday!

So we went on a FAMILY holiday! My dad regularly goes to St Georges so we knew it was going to be a good holiday! Arrived early hours in the morning and were shown to our rooms, they were basic but didnt expect much else with beingg a 2 stram u get what you pay for. Holiday was goig greta until about half way through, we had hired out quads from Georges (Really NICE people), on this day we got back to the stars around 8ish and decided to get changed and go out for dinner, e ended up staying at the stars till around 11ish playing the stupid games provided by Kostas, the owner. We then decided to go into the resoirt for dinner. When we came back it all changed. Be aware Kostas does not appreciate you eating anywhere other than Stars. I never realised when you go on a self catering holiday you have to be glued to the the hotel??? Anyway so we came back around 12ish, me, my partner , ny dad, his partner and our little 4 yr old in her pushchair, as we get to the bar to order some drinks thare are some other guests questioning Kostas about what he does in the winter when the season closes, a perfectly normal question, so then joinging in the conversation my partner asks the same question, he takes offence, then we simpy asked if he had sorted the SKY tv so we could watch the darts, this is when it all kicked off, Kostas then starts saying Relax relax??? if you do not relax i will show you how we do things the Greek way??? Well if thasts not a threat i do not know what it, this guy for some reasons thinks he can threaten our family and it to be perefctly normally, the next morning he tried to apologise etc, he blamed it on him being tired, if you cant hack it then dont do the job. We saw our repthe next morning and they moved us to another hotel, which was 100 times better than the Stars, i would recommend the Alexandra Beach Apts, Alex is a brilliant guy, but do not stay here you will be on pins all week, hes like a jekyll and hide, and as for the qualirt of the service he provides, its repettive mundane and extremely irritating!
