Monika Hotel

Will recommend to any one who asks your holiday is what you make it and we had a realy good time.

We are going back this year same time june same place hoping the same staff will be there. Welcoming staff very good food good we had a party 40th anniversary and the staff did all the arrangments could not do enough for us made us very welcome. Could not find any bad points.

We had a great time on holiday staying in the Monika Hotel and would definitely go back again.

Lovely island and weather but we weren't comfortable in the Monika Hotel.

I was a bit apprehensive about staying here after reading many of the reviews but I was pleasantly surprised. The accommodation is basic but it is not advertised as a luxury hotel. The hotel has been re-vamped. All the beds are new. Sheets were changed twice a week and we had clean towels every other day. The only complaint was the lack of air-conditioning in self-catering but we were told that they are planning to install it for next year. The pool area is clean and well-maintained and although there are plenty of sunbeds and parasols, they are getting to look a little tired and should be replaced soon. Staff couldn't have been better. Always friendly and helpful. There were a mixture of guests including couples, singles, families and even lone travellers. Everyone was made to feel welcome. As for the mosquitoes, they aren't a problem at Monika, however they are problem in other areas of Corfu!

Booked with Olympic Holidays on a late deal- My gosh what a mistake. We managed to stop the rep before she escaped onto coach. Told her no way would we stay here. NOTE this is not 2star but 2 Flame, our rep informed us, so don't fall for their clever brochure description. It is basic, basic, basic.

Didn't find rep (Olympic) particularly helpful.

Thankfully my daughter and I made our own arrangements and booked at our own expense into Three Brothers Hotel. Wow are we glad we did. It was worth every euro and more. They saved our holiday and sanity...

Sidari was really nice, and there were some good places to eat. Plenty of shops and bars. We hired a car for a week and explored the island. If we ever go back there we will find somewhere else to stay though, as the Monika Hotel beds were really uncomfortable, and being so close to the canal there was a big problem with beetles in the room. The cleaners we had for the first few days were brilliant, but they had some new ones after about 4 days who skimped with the cleaning. If it was missed for just 1 day the room was full of beetles. The hotel manager seemed a bit hostile because we didn't use the hotel bar much, but the drinks were expensive, and the food was not up to much. The idea of self catering is to eat and drink where you like.

The holiday was OK, but we wouldn't go back. The rep was much better than described by other reviews. I was badly bitten by mosquitoes and she offered to get ice from the bar to soothe them, but we weren't told what time our transfers were from the hotel to go home. We had to find out from other holiday makers.

Monika Hotel is an excellent place to stay, maybe not so good for a large family unless you have 2 rooms. Pool was brilliant and the location was perfect.

Excellent holiday the only complaint was our rep who was not very approachable or helpful at all. The Monika Hotel is clean lovely quite place, pool excellent and food good. location brilliant/
