Maria Studios

I stumbled upon this little gem of a resort and accomodation simply by accident, i booked a very a late deal and was tremendously surprised when i arrived at the Maria Studios in Paleo. My son and i was warmley greeted by the host and was immediately made very welcome, the holiday just got better and better with each day. All the guests were very friendly and we were just a small amount of 'first timers' most of the other guests were 'repeaters'to both the resort and paleo and made us feel like part of a community. The family themselves were fantastic hosts. The food was wonderful, the beer cold and the cocktails was wonderful, their humour was refreshing and very dry, and the BBQ night is a superb way of meeting other guests.. also to keep fit with the greek dancing lesson which is compulsary!! I would never normally return to a resort or accomodation but i will be a repeater to this diamond.

The Villa Maria Studios and Apartments are a great set of apartments which were well maintained and clean. Rooms all of good size with there own en-suite and private balcony's. Kitchen had everything in it that you needed to cook etc if you wished. Food from the supermarket is usually much more expensive than from home. You can expect to have a 3 course meal with wine for around 25 euros per person.

Everything about this place is excellent, we go twice a year and will not stay anywhere else. On our first visit in 2005 we did try different tavernas but food at Maria's is excellent and do not eat anywhere else, in fact we don't venture anywhere else except Angel's Bar which is a excellent bar, Yiannis sisters. We have been to different Greek islands and mainland Greece until we found this little gem. Yiannis, Katterina and family cant do enough for you, accommodation best we have ever stayed and is cleaned every other day. B.B.Q. on Saturday night is a must and you will get to meet other guest. Will be going next year our 9th time. Paleo most scenic place we have been to in Greece. Maria Studios/Faros Bar best place we have ever stayed in Greece.

The pool at this place was the best feature. Corfu town is worth a look some beautiful views also if you've got kids a trip to aqua land is a good day out. If you can get on the beach the water is nice and calm. You have to pay for air conditioning 48 euros per week, accommodation about a 2* and that's being nice! Nothing worked in the place we had to fix our own toilet after we complained and no one came and it was meant to be self catering but rings on cooker didn't work. If you want to be insulted by the owner stay here, we didn't have much dealings with him at the times we used the pool he is very bad mannered. Many people who stayed here found him funny calling them names but I found it insulting. Cleaners only cleaned place twice and our bedding once the two weeks we stayed there. The beach if you can call it a beach is always packed, coaches all over the place with day trippers and the road at night or day is quite dangerous as there's no pavements until you reach the bottom towards the main beach. Also the food is nasty and expensive near the top a main meal and beer for 2 people cost 50 euros total, a bit expensive!! Just hated this place a lot of people go back all the time I used to love Corfu but this has put me right off going to Greece all together it's just a money pit that milks you dry. Probably like Marmite you either love it or hate it!
