Clean Hotel And Nice People
I was on a business to Berlin when I stayed at the hotel. The receptionist booked the room for me, so I had not done any researches. To my glad, the hotel was clean and the attendants were very kind.

4x Day City Break
The hotel was clean, in need of overhaul decorating as it is a little outdated. Room cleaned daily alongwith fresh towels. Did not use the restaurant, the bar was small but reasonably priced drinks. A few minutes walk to Charlottenburg train station. Several restaurants and cafes close by. As the hotel is situated on the main road lots of traffic noise at night. Unfortunately we were in Berlin over the weekend, the shops are all closed and the hotel does not have a lounge to relax in. Overall a pleasnt stay.
We were unsure of how near or far the City Centre was from this are although it was necessary to catch the train daily to see the historical sites.

We Picked Hotel Berlin After A Number Of Years Sta
We picked Hotel Berlin after a number of years staying east of the Brandenburg Gate. We have visited Berlin on many occasion both pre Wallfall and Post Wallfall and tried different hotels for differing reasons. The Berlin came up on our internet research when we were looking for a good quality hotel near Ka De We and various sights we had not seen. We visit in December for the Christmas Markets and I come during the year on journalist duties so we need a quality hotel. The breakfasts are of high standard and one may eat as much as anyone would want. The bedrooms are large and warm, well furnished and we had a balcony. We had many reasons to eat out in the evenings but took time to try one evening to assess the hotel menu and the quality of food. We found it very good and served by very friendly staff. The open bar in the "corridor" takes a bit of time to get used to and it certainly needs more seating, don't leave your seat when you get one or someone will leap in. We would certainly stay there again since it is value for money.

It Is Fair To Say That Hotel Berlin Is Not The Con
It is fair to say that Hotel Berlin is not the conventional place for foreign city breakers to stay. In fact, I was told by hotel staff that 70% of it's annual clientele are middle-class, middle aged German couples and a further 20% are either businessmen or corporate parties. I guess then, that I was a bit of an anomaly staying there and just about the only English speaker staying at the time, much to the dismay of my fellow, grandiose guests. The scenario became even more incongruous at breakfast and meal times, where stuffy and well-dressed German couples would stare scornfully at me, the only scruffy, laissez-faire tourist there. The Hotel Berlin experience is unique in many respects and represents a microcosm of Berlin culture, far more so than other hotels in Berlin in my opinion. The hotel itself is a bit of a relic of Berlin's confused periods of transition; the exterior is bleak and utilitarian, evoking the Communist era of old and yet the lobby exudes an art deco extravagance and Capitalistic opulence. It is precisely this contrast that epitomises Berlin's diversity and it is this diversity that the intrepid traveller may wish to experience by staying at this Hotel.
