Eden Magenta

Eden Magenta - We chose this hotel for its low price and to be honest we were pleasantly surprised as we thought it was in the red light area, and it actually wasn't, although just an easy walk from the Gare du Nord Eurostar terminal. The room was very small but did have a fridge and tv. Bathroom was also small but very clean, as were the beds. The breakfast is adequate (rolls and croissants) and although there is no room service, there is a coffee machine in reception which was handy for late-night returns. However, some very simple maintenance would have made great improvements. The light on the stairs didn't work, which made for a hazardous climb up to the room in pitch darkness (there is a lift, but I don't like lifts!!). Also, the curtains were hanging off in the room as several hooks were missing. These things could have been fixed in an instant. Why didn't they do it??? Anyway, overall it was fine for a budget couple of nights, and you want your money for spending on the sights of Paris, so we were satisfied on the whole.
