In Kapparis Not In Protaras As Advertised
Just returned from a fabulous holiday at the Malama Holiday Village with my sister, niece, niece's partner and their baby daughter. The accommodation was excellent from the beautifully landscaped gardens to the superb sea view. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff who were all helpful and friendly and any request made at reception was dealt with immediately. We booked in on a half board basis. The food was always excellent, well presented with a varied menu to suit all tastes and good service from all the restaurant staff.
Our only complaint is that we were in Cyprus for a family wedding and all the guests were staying in Protaras. When we made the booking for the Malama Holiday Village it was advertised as being in Protaras when it is in fact in Kapparis as we found out when we finally got to our accommodation. We were miles away from the wedding party and although there is an excellent bus service and always taxis available it was not easy meeting up with everybody with a 4 month old baby to consider. Had we known this when booking we most certainly would have opted for accommodation in Protaras not Kapparis.

First Time In Cyprus And Were Shocked At The Cost
First time in Cyprus and were shocked at the cost of things. 3.50 euros a pint, 15 euros taxi to Protaras, some restaruants charge a mandatory 10% service charge, we thought we were closer to the main resort, instead we were in the middle of nowhere. Famagusta ghost town is a real shocker if you have never seen the northern side of Cyprus. We hired an Astra sized car for four days at a cost of 155 euros. If you prefer a busy nightlife I don't think Malama is for you. We preferred Protaras on an evening as there were a good choice of bars which offered different types of entertainments. Would we go back---no i don't think so.

I Loved It. It Was A Fantastic Holiday. I Went Wit
I loved it. It was a fantastic holiday. I went with 3 teenage kids on my own, and we had a brilliant family holiday. I recommend hiring a car. Driving is a doddle, and it made the holiday for us. The water park was brilliant. The kids loved it. Get there early or you will not get a sunbed. There are plenty of reasonable restaurants near the Malama Holiday Village in Protaras. We organised a boat trip with the company at the end of the road, near the village. The boat was antiquated, but we had such fun. Beer, soft drinks and a fantastic lunch, cooked on-board. Snorkeling with fish (take some bread with you. It felt a bit like being in the barrier reef).
The apartments are really big. My three went in one room and I slept in the lounge and it was plenty big enough. Huge bathroom, and we never ran out of piping hot water. The grounds were lovely, full of flowers, and it never felt crowded. Unusual indoor pool worth a look at. Buffet breakfast was unbelievable. I suggest the B&B option. We ate for England, and then we were supposedly not going to eat lunch, but we always seemed to end up eating fresh rolls from the shop as well, and then out for a meal in the evening. Came back fat and happy!
Hope this helps, and I so wish that I could afford to take my three back and do it all again! Have fun.

You Are Mad To Not Visit Malama Holiday Village.
You are mad to not visit Malama Holiday Village. It was a perfect way to spend my birthday, meet people and relax. Evenings in Protaras were lovely and a small and cheap bus journey away. Different entertainment nights were really good. I didn't want to leave!
Thanks!
Couldn't agree more. We have already been back, and have recommended to friends
If you don't want the fag of going into Protaras or Paralimni. Try Tony's on the main road through Kapparis.
