Rooms Appeared Very Basic, Saw Ants And A Cockroac
Rooms appeared very basic, saw ants and a cockroach during our stay. Reception appeared to be just for show and not for the guests, staff seemed unhelpful, disliked the food, weekend disco for the rich Cyprus teenagers where they take over the hotel till the early hours with noise, even the staff appear to hate the weekend disco as it was them that told me it was for the Cyprus rich kids.
I love Cyprus and visit regularly but this was one of the most expensive and least enjoyable I have ever had.

During The Early Hours Of Sunday 7th September 200
During the early hours of Sunday 7th September 2007 we were awaken by another guest at the Grecian Park Hotel running through the corridor banging on doors to awake guests as there was a fire on the 3rd Floor. He was shouting "get out fire!" The fire had been caused by a cigarette that had set light to the chair by the lift and fire exit.
There were no alarms going off, there was a guest smashing the glass with his hand to try and raise the alarm system which was not working. This guest had also tried this on each floor.
We were awoken and the whole corridor was filled with smoke, there was a 4 month old baby in our party along with my elderly grandparents. We had to run to the stairs and go through the smoke on the 3rd floor to exit the hotel.
The fire service took 30 mins to arrive and deal with the fire and at no times did a fire alarm sound in the hotel.
From the outside of the hotel you could see guests stuck on their balcony and were tying sheets together ready to climb the side of the hotel.
They were also throwing mattresses out of their balcony ready to jump onto.
Through this there was only one member of staff on night duty in the hotel.
The guests were allowed back into the hotel without any checks that everyone was out of the building. That day we even spoke to guests that had slept through the fire.
I am highly unimpressed with the standard of this hotel. Basic things such as fire alarms were not working, there were fire extinguishers out of date and the staff were too quick to cover up the incident so new srrivals were unaware of what had taken place.

We Absolutely Loved It Here! We Did Hire A Car For
We absolutely loved it here! We did hire a car for three days mid week and I would suggest to do that as the hotel is a little away from it all, and that gave us a fab opportunity to explore in our own time. The Italian restaurant opposite the hotel served great food and was cheap too. There's a few friendly taverns nearby too, which again were far cheaper than the hotel. We saw two weddings whilst there which I must say concerned me before we went as had read a few reviews but they both had separate areas and you hardly noticed them to be honest. On my birthday the staff had put a complimentary bottle of wine and a card in our room which was a sweet touch, and when we saw a cockroach (I really hate them!!) the staff were so apologetic and even cleaned our room again putting down poison to ensure none would get in the room!! Great facilities but take trainers if you do want to use the tennis courts and a visit to the wellness spa is a must!!! All in all, a fab place to stay for a relaxing break, and if you get to meet famous footballers like we did then thats a bonus too!! Enjoy!

We Went As Part Of A Group Of 15 For A Wedding. Pe
We went as part of a group of 15 for a wedding. Perfect place to get married, wedding arrangements were excellent and the day went without a hitch. Wedding we attended was at 4:00pm and it was absolutely cooking hot - wear very light outfits!! A couple of bars and restaurants nearby, Konnos Bay was very good - especially their Karoke night, and the Italian directly across from the hotel was excellent. Spent a lot of time between Protaras (good restaurants and a few souvenir shops) and Ayia Napa (great for nights out and shops - could have stayed all summer and not eaten in the same place twice). Try the Chinese/Japanese restaurant - it was fantastic!!! The walks and trails in the national park are not bad, but go either early morning or late afternoon, much too hot otherwise. Check out car hire deals, we hired via our tour operator but could have gotten a better deal in Ayia Napa or Protaras. Definitely go to the Water Park at Ayia Napa - it's a great day out for all - the small kids and the big ones!! My husband and I also visited the Ocean Aquarium at Protaras, it's a bit run down although there were plenty fish to see and a small zoo - although it was pretty poor - cost approx CY £21 for a family of 4 - bit expensive as you'd not stay much longer than an hour or so. Other than that, the sun shone for 2 weeks and we had an incredible time.

Although The Grecian Park Hotel In Protaras Is Awa
Although the Grecian park Hotel in Protaras is away from the main resort, there are a handful of quality restaurants and bars within walking distance, whose prices are very reasonable, and in fact cheaper than the UK.
It was perfect for my needs, and it was only a short taxi or bus ride from the resort centre.

We Went To The Grecian Park For 2 Weeks At The End
We went to the Grecian Park for 2 weeks at the end of June/July 2005. We were dropped off first by the Coach, and thought we were in the middle of nowhere (the hotel is in-between Ayia Napa and Protaras). There were 3 restaurants, 1 mini market, and 1 bar within a few hundred metres of the hotel, but that's about it.
We both thought the hotel and room had lovely decor (I think it's been renovated since reading some other reviews). You'll definately need to make use of the bus stops which are right outside the hotel, although when waiting for buses, Taxi drivers pull over and offer to take you for a cheaper than normal fair. We were paying approximately £3-£4 CYP to go into Protaras, although the bus fare was about £0.90 each, so it depends on how many share your Taxi, and if you can be bothered waiting. You should use a Taxi driver called George, he was fab, really friendly (just ask the Hotel to call him when ordering your Taxi).
The highlight of our holiday was we got married on 1st July. I would highly recommend this to anyone contemplating it, it was absolutely fantastic. The Hotel Manager seemed a bit strange and pushy when we were organising cocktails at the Reception, but everything was well organised on the day. We were married on the cliff top overlooking Cape Greco, and had our Reception under a marquee in the gardens. It was a truly memorable day (no bad English weather either)!
I Would definately return to The Grecian Park, although wouldn't recommend it for young couples or groups of friends looking for a lively holiday. Don't get me wrong, it's only about a 10 minute taxi ride away from the action, but seemed a quietish place during the day. The drinks were very expensive (one day around the pool, we paid over £10.00 for 3 waters and a glass of coke)!
Also it is worth popping over to the Konnos Bay Hotel and Apartments for the Kareoke night (about 400m away from Hotel), it was a good laugh, and the drinks were A LOT cheaper!
