A Lovely Area For Holidays Both For Young And Old.
A lovely area for holidays both for young and old. Hotel situated on fairly level ground so is suitable for almost everyone my wife and I both pensioners suffer from hip or back problems and managed to get around quite well although we did find the walk into Protaras too much for us both and had to finish our walk by bus. For anyone active the walk into Protaras should I would think take about twenty minutes. The trips organised for us by our tour operators Cosmos were both interesting and fulfilling although we thought a little expensive, we found out later that we could have booked similar trips from the nearby town but this would have evolved a 20 minute walk, a taxi ride, fairly cheap, or a bus ride on a service where the driver seems to run to his time. All in all we had a most wonderful holiday at the Carvo Maris Beach Hotel and would if we could, stay there again. Some of our fellow guests who we spoke to had been going there year after year, which I thought was a great recommendation.
I've Heard So Many Great Things About Cavo Maris H
I've heard so many great things about Cavo Maris Hotel.. did the Mediterranean heat make them all MAD??
First of all, we ordered a family room but were stuck in a twin room with 4 beds squeezed in. Complaints about this fell on deaf ears.
Second, the all-inclusive customers were treated second class compared to bed & breakfast customers. AI customers were refused service when the restaurant/bars were "closed" yet gladly continued to serve BB customers when they waved cash at them.
During mealtimes, the waiters would take our drink orders when entering the restaurant but we were still waiting for our drinks when we had finished our meals.
Also sometimes the staff became sarcastic towards AI customers who were "taking advantage" of AI by becoming overzealous orderers.
The entertainment was near non-existent. You get the occasional magic trick or someone juggling in the evening, but that lasts about 15 minutes then you're left to find your own entertainment.
The hotel shows movies in your room every night but sometimes you'll be halfway through watching the film when the DVD menu will appear & the movie restarts all over again.
Well, that's summed up all the bad things, everything else was quite nice. Location, beach, food, pool, etc.
Not worth the money we paid (£650 each for a one week package holiday) but if you manage to go for less than £400 each then it's tolerable.
I do not agree at all with what Kez writes about the Carvo Maris Beach Hotel in Protaras and his holiday in 2005. All that I can say is, the hotel must have pulled their socks up, because when we stayed there for one week - September 20th to 27th 2006, the staff could not have been more pleasant or helpful if they had tried, and the entertainment was quite good and went on until very late in the evening. All I would say to prospective clients is give it a try, and then make up your own mind.
We do not have any shares in this hotel, and we stayed all inclusive with Cosmos.

Had A Wonderful Holiday At Cavo Maris Back In June
Had a wonderful holiday at Cavo Maris back in June 2004 and would defiantly go back again. It's a fair walk from the main drag but the buses go straight into the town and at only 50p each for as many stops as you want to go its good value. Enjoyed many a long stroll to the town plus you see a few different restaurants and bars on the way which are quiet and the food is very nice. The food at Cavo Maris is ok, went b&b but ended up going all inclusive on day 10 because we ran out of money! It was great getting drinks and as much food as you wanted. Staff are reasonably friendly, not too much in your face but will talk to you. The resort is great and we didn't want to come home. Me, my partner, and children aged 9 and 6 went in 2004.
