We Stayed At Hotel Eta In August 2008 In A Two Bed
We stayed at Hotel Eta in August 2008 in a two bed apartment booked through Balkan Holidays over the internet. If you are looking for a relaxing, quiet time then I'd definitely recommend. The paths and pavements outside the resort were very uneven and I thought dangerous so care needs to be taken especially for those with poor mobility. The complex doesn't have a supermarket or food store so you have to venture outside if you want some basic supplies. There were some small shops selling food etc which you could get to after a 5-10 min walk. Taxis to the main town of Pomorie were Lev10 each way and only a 5 minute drive. The taxis were always directly outside the hotel so easy to find. Prices in the complex were on a par with the UK but you could get cheaper meals and drinks outside the complex although the service was sometimes fairly poor. We did find the Bulgarian people very friendly on the whole but some did seem a bit miserable, although this could have been as a result of the language barriers. There weren't too many people speaking English but we still managed as most restaurants had some English menus. Wherever we ate meals never seemed to come together and often we were left waiting for one member of the party to get their meal whilst the others had to start or eat theirs cold. This was better in the complex than outside although it did still happen at the resort restaurants. I left feeling that there were many more good things than bad though and we'd definitely consider returning.
I agree with this review because... I too found the Bulgarian people quite sour. I would go as far as to say some were seemingly rude and unfriendly.

The Eta Hotel In Sunset Resort, Bulgaria Is A Real
The Eta Hotel in Sunset Resort, Bulgaria is a real gem! It's a palace with marble floors, fabulous modern apartments, surrounded by the culture of a quiet Bulgarian town. We received a first class service from the staff, who catered to our every need. You are just seconds from the beautiful sandy beach and 10 minutes from the busy Sunny Beach resort.
I can't say I'm a fan of traditional Bulgarian food (very rich), but we chose self catering. The fruit and meat from the local shops and markets was incredibly cheap, so we enjoyed our own cooking, and it made the holiday.
This is the best holiday I have had. Myself and my partner wanted a relaxing holiday, within reasonable distance of a few clubs, bars and shops, and that's exactly what we got. Sunset Resort is full of culture and tradition, and you get a glimpse of the real Bulgaria. Sunny Beach is about 10 - 15 minutes away by bus, and we had some great nights out. It was just lovely having our luxury apartment in the quiet town to come back to. Plus, we had sun, sea and sand. What more could you want?
I found this review helpful because... we are planning a trip to sunset resort and want to make sure we have all we want for a perfect holiday
