Sunny Beach, Iberostar

This holiday was brilliant and we will definitely be visiting this resort again. In fact we are already booked for summer 2008!

Every thing about the Sunny Beach hotel was first class. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good choice for breakfast and dinner. Would go back to this hotel.

We went to the Iberostar Sunny Beach hotel for a week at the beginning of July. The hotel had only been completed 6 weeks earlier and everything was pristine. The room was excellent with lots of space and a lovely sea view, sky TV, Mini bar, air conditioning and piped music in the bathroom!!! I could not find one fault with either the room or the hotel. The food was excellent and the choice was good, so you never got board. The only thing I would say is that if you have fussy kids that only eat "junk" then you might struggle to find something for them to eat, however they always had pizza and chips on!!! Beware the temptation to go back and try something else is huge and putting a few pounds on are compulsory.... There was entertainment every day, which was more amusing then hugely talented. The hotel was situated on the road just back from the beach; however you could get a really good view of the beach and sea. It was also just a short stroll from the main centre, close enough for a wander but far enough away to avoid all noise. I would say this hotel was ideally placed. khans tent was a good excursion, however shop around as there is a huge difference in price £18- £25!! We went to Nessabar on the boat 10 lev each one way and were not hugely impressed as they have put a tacky gift shop on every corner, so much for world heritage sight. However as there is not a great deal to do in the resort its worth a trip as you can do it on your own. We also got the local bus into Bourgas city which I thought would provide better shopping, but not too be. The water park was good and worth a visit as you can get a sun bed and spend all day there, it's about 25 lev to get in. Basically if you are looking for a typical beach holiday in a lovely hotel with cheap drinks then I would really recommend it. If you are looking for a cultural holiday with ancient sights, best avoid Sunny beach.

Also be aware of the local mafia( flash cars) and make sure you padlock your cases through the airport as they have been know to rifle through them on your way in and out!!! in fact on our return we were given a flyer on the way into the airport offering protection of your case for 6 lev!!!! no one took it up though, so don't be worried it's more funny than frightening.
