Stayed 5 Nights At Villa Malee End Of Sep And Love
Stayed 5 nights at Villa Malee end of Sep and loved it. We booked the villa through www.samuisunsetvillas.com with the owner. I read twomunsters' review only after we paid the deposit. We were worried, wanted to cancel the booking. Because the deposit has already been paid, we decided to ask questions - a lot of questions - were comfortable with the answers. We went ahead with the booking, had a great time there. The villa has all the things we wanted.
We did not really want a rental car at first but soon realized it is no fun for even the 5 min walk to the restaurant just down the hill from the villa. The manager arranged a rental car to be delivered to the villa so it was OK with us.
We Have Been To Koh Samui Many Times And Wanted To
We have been to Koh Samui many times and wanted to try staying in a villa. We worked hard for this holiday and paid 6 thousand dollars in full, 30 days prior to our arrival as requested by this company. We paid for an early check in, but they were put out when we arrived at 10am. They had not finished setting up and asked us not to go upstairs. The first thing we noticed was a bad smell and the stained furniture, the couch was filthy. All the blinds were shut and once opened revealed no garden as advertised but blue tarps draped over where there had been a landslide, it looked bad. Nothing had been cleaned, everything was dusty, the showers looked like they had not been cleaned. The taps had toothpaste on them. The smell came from the blocked drains in the shower and was so bad we couldn't use one of them, so tried the other shower to discover it too was blocked and the water would gather at the bottom. After 10 hours on a plane this is where we find ourselves, unable to shower, feeling dirtier than when we arrived! We left and booked ourselves into a nice resort in Chaweng, it was such a relief to be able to have a shower and feel fresh. We emailed the property managers of the villa and explained the situation, we also sent photos of the dirty furniture etc. We had paid a lot of money to stay in a clean fully functional villa and they had provided a villa with two showers that couldn't be used. At least two days scrubbing was needed to get that place clean and we were not prepared to do that, we were paying nearly $600 a night! But they told us the villa was immaculate and all was in tip top condition, what an insult. Needless to say we did not get a refund and lost 6 grand. The villa looked fantastic on their web site but was completely different in reality. There was no garden outlook, there was no beautiful rooftop bbq area, the furniture was dirty and you have a lovely view of construction sites! They will keep your money regardless of the poor accommodation they provide. So take care and good luck!
