Krabi, La Playa Resort

Lovely hotel towards the quieter end of the main strip. Turn left out of the hotel towards the shops, restaurants, go-go bars etc and busier beach (Ao Nang). Turn right out of the hotel and the bars, shops etc dwindle but the beach (Noppharat Thara) here is much quieter and generally nicer.

Hotel itself if very clean, tidy, very helpful staff. We were on the top floor so nice view of the Sea. We did notice that some of the press photos were a little old as there are now hotels blocking most of the view to the sea now. Shame about the showers, its so hard to get a constant temperature, its either hot, cold, hot cold... The laundry service was the cheapest hotel service we'd come across although you can get your washing done by the kilo outside the hotel even cheaper. The only real concern was the water in the pool, a little murky, I think they were aware of this as they were trying to fix the pool cleaning machine. The pool is a constant 1.4m everywhere. We did consider getting a room with private access to the pools but I'm glad we didn't bother, I'd rather have the view, besides some of these rooms had little privacy and you're paying a lot more. Rooms are good size, flat screen TV, good Aircon, big bathrooms with bath and separate shower. We'd definately stay here again.
