We Enjoyed Our Stay At The Phenicia So Much Over T
We enjoyed our stay at the Phenicia so much over the New Year that we have already booked to go back at the beginning of June when the weather will be hot. We really could not fault the hotel - the public areas were kept spotlessly clean at all times of the day and the staff were so polite and helpful.
The rooms are adequate for two people but we had our daughter sharing which meant the room was quite cramped for 3 people. The bathrooms are quite spacious and fitted to a high standard. I understand the hotel had a complete refit some time in 2004.
The food in all the restaurants was plentiful, fresh and varied and a good selection to cater for all tastes. The bars were open to all inclusive guests to well after midnight which surprised us as we've previously stayed in hotels in Greece which cease all-inclusive at 11pm. The evening entertainment was actually quite good with professional acts appearing most nights as well as entertainment from the resident animation team.
The grounds are well-tended and very attractive and the beach is absolutely beautiful.
Taxis are plentiful outside the hotel and very inexpensive. It's worth taking a taxi on Saturday morning to Bouficha approximately 20 minutes drive, where a large market is held for the Tunisians. Nobody will pester you to buy things as they are catering for themselves, not tourists, selling everyday objects including fruit, vegetables, spices, household items etc.

I Would Recommend The Iberostar Phenicia In Hammam
I would recommend the Iberostar Phenicia in Hammamet. You can visit Tunisia and enjoy the weather, but you never need to leave the hotel and be pestered and sworn at when you don't buy the rubbish for sale.
