Basically - My Friend Had Booked Tickets From The

Basically - my friend had booked tickets from the UK for the overnight sleeper train from Luxor to Cairo with ask-alladin.com. We arranged our own hotel accommodation for two nights in Cairo and flights back to Luxor.

When my friend and I arrived in Luxor, the representative of ask-aladdin.com did not tell us that the tickets we had booked were no longer available, but instead mainly tried to sell us local tours. He asked when we were leaving our hotel and assumed we would want to change our tickets for this date (despite the fact we were flying to England).. This rep made a complete mess of our trip to Cairo, due to his inability to relay information and to concentrate offering other trips.

We ended up having to go on the Thursday instead of our booked Wednesday night and lost one night's accommodation we had paid for and travelling the following day, meaning we did not get to see the pyramids, due to other commitments already booked.

Basically, I would suggest you book train tickets with another company who can relay information correctly. In my experience ask-aladdin.com were inefficient.

The train is an experience - we were two ladies alone and felt safe in every way. The staff are very friendly and welcoming - not requesting tips all the time - and service is good.

I would recommend going on the train if you sleep like a log - or if you want to be up all night!

Dear all ask-aladdin.com is not travel agency and they does not have any rights to sell tours

They pretend that they give only information about Egypt but they offer tours un legally I would give you some important info about legal travel agency

License number from the ministry of tourism

They does not write any address so you cannot find them

When you reserve with agency you do not make any money transfer to person but the agency name

Good luck

I would like to disagree with what this lady says about ask-aladdin. I was in Egypt at Easter and used his services to get the train bookings and a hotel in Luxor. He personally gave me the tickets, and the details of the hotel, and I was thoroughly impressed with his service. His representative in Luxor was very pleasant and helped me in every way he could. I will definitely be using the services of ask-aladdin again, and have advised my friends to also do so.

I do agree with her about the train though, but this is a fault of the train company, not the tour agent. Why it has to stop at so many stations, when no one can get off or on is beyond me.

It is a shame that we do not praise good services more through sites like this as they always seem to be used as an outlet for criticism or complaint. I would say to anyone looking for a good, reliable company to deal with in Egypt, give ask-aladdin a try, I am over the moon with the service I got.
