Residence Inn

I checked into this hotel on 5/1/14 and when I went to my room it looked tired and worn. There was obvious damage to a lampshade. We had business so we left immediately and did not return till after 11:00PM. At that time we discovered the television in the front bedroom was not working. I telephoned and reported same to the desk. Instead of offering to bring a new tv or move us the clerk replied she would tell them in the morning. I asked for a manager, none on site. The next morning I did not receive a call from management so I called again. No management available. When I checked out I again reported the issue and asked for a manager. No management on site. The clerk said she had talked to management about additional rewards points. I left situation not resolved. When I returned home I made a complaint to customer service. The result was an email telling me they were giving me extra rewards points. Not even the courtesy of a phone call. What I wanted was the upscale experience I paid for and I don't believe I got it here. Management was substandard compared with other Residence Inns I have stayed at. I did not want money or points but a comp room of the quality I paid for would have been nice I travel a lot and have not experienced this at other Residence Inns

i recently booked a stay at this hotel in Feb., and was told that this hotel was a 5-star establishment. We arrived at this hotel, and upon entering lobby we noticed the furniture in lobby was cheap old and soiled, and the only thing in lobby that looked decent for a 5- star establishment was the huge fireplace. The carpet looked cheap and worn. We wanted to give this place the benefit of a doubt, and hoped that the rooms were better. We got on the elevator and headed to our room and still the carpet in this place was worn and outdated, not a 5-star establishment! We went into the room and the dinette furniture was chipping and looked stressed, and living room furniture was soiled. This hotel for this price is by far not a 5-star hotel, this hotel should have a 2-star rating. We were expecting a beautiful 5-star hotel, we could have booked a 5-star hotel in the downtown area for less than what this hotel are charging per night. The only good thing about this place was the free parking. If you are looking for an elegant 5-stat hotel, this is not the place, especially what they are charging. I also stayed in Des Plane at hilton garden inn hotel, and this hotel was elegant, star rating was 3-star,by far way better than residence inn.
