Tantallon House, Cumbria

This is a lovely place to stay if you're looking to get away and see the Hadrian's Wall area. We had one of the front rooms (I think it was name after a famous boat?) and were delighted by the view out of the window in the morning. Super breakfast, and helpful hosts.

I stayed for one weekend but will definitely visit again. The house is excellent, with great facilities and its own owl! It is in a great location and the scenery is beautiful, would recommend.

We had a great break at Tantallon House. It is located in on the edge of a very cute village with stunning views across the valley. It is easy to access beautiful country walks, such as along Hadrian's wall, and the interesting small towns around the area.

The beds were very comfortable and rooms well heated.

Some of the party had en suits others had separate bathrooms - all very clean and heated well.

Food was great.

It has a good sized living room, which we enjoyed using in the evenings.

I'd definitely recommend it as a countryside holiday location.

I have been walking Hadrians Wall in sections for the past year on and off, and this is the best place I stayed by far. Warm and hospitable and perfectly situated, it was just what my wife and I needed. We like the tough landscape but after a day's hike there is nothing better than a bit of luxury.

There was a lovely room, clean and large with . The breakfast was locally sourced, well presented and delicious and filling which set us up for the day. We only had time on this occasion to stay for one night but we'll be back !

We had a superb visit to Tantallon house and I would highly recommend this B&B to anyone wanting to relax in a fantastic house and explore the wonderful local area. The house was warm, cosy, welcoming and had fantastic beds, and the local area was packed with great places to visit and stunning countryside to explore.

The house is well equipped with games, local information, internet, excellent room facilities (lovely warm shower!) great tea & coffee facilities and of course two friendly, knowledgeable hosts who cooked us great breakfasts in preparation for our busy days enjoying Hadrian's Wall.

I would certainly return.

We spent a great week at Tantallon House's cottage. We booked online after seeing the beautiful photos of the house and area, and we weren't disappointed when we turned up. The cottage was just the right size for the two of us, and had everything we needed. The beds were comfy and lounge was nice to relax in each evening. Lots of nearby walks and things to see and see.
