South West Rocks, Smoky Cape Retreat

While still on the road we had a phone call from the advisor at Smoky Cape Retreat to check on our arrival time, so that when we arrived the lights were on in our room and the temperature was warm and cosy. The room was clean, nice and spacious, and had a huge bathroom with spa and a private garden attached. We had an early night in these comfortable surrounds and woke up looking forward to breakfast. Hosts put on a great breakfast as part of the package, and we enjoyed a chat while choosing a couple of plants from the selection on offer in the garden outside. We felt a bit sad about leaving so early to return to Sydney as Smoky Cape Retreat would certainly be a pleasant place to relax for a day or more. It's far enough away from town to feel like you're in the country, yet close to Trial Bay Gaol and the Lighthouse that are the tourism 'must-sees' of the area. How anyone could stay there and not have a great experience is beyond us. We loved it and will most certainly return for another visit with them.
