Oak Tree Cottage Otterburn

We rented this cottage from 26/08/ - 02/09/17. The first thing one sees as you open the front door is a hoover tucked under the stairs, we didn't think this was appropriate as it could have been in a cupboard out of the way. the cottage looked clean enough and the kitchen was well kitted out. The bathroom appeared to be clean but there was no toilet roll, we have holidayed in many cottages and this is the first time there has not been one in the bathroom, good job I took some with me. On using the toilet there was a problem with the cistern it would not refill instead the water kept on running into the toilet bowl, we contacted the housekeeper who arrived about 45 minutes later, she then showed me what to do to clear this problem, she advised this had only happened once before, but we had the problem on a number of occasions, I don't go on holiday to do plumbing work. The extractor fan in the bathroom had not been cleaned in a long time, there were cobwebs hanging from the ceiling not what you would expect. There was no mention in the information for Oak Tree Cottage about the main road or the public footpath, our dog barked everytime someone walked by which was a concern as there were people in the cottage next door. There was no information about things to see or do in the area, not very helpful. The garden was unsuitable for our dog as it was across the other side of the public footpath so we could not let him out We will not be renting Oak Tree cottage again and I would not recommend to friends or family.
