You Don't Always Get What You Pay For! Seaspray Camber Beach

I guess its all a matter of taste. What are your requirements?.

Personally for nearly £1200 i expect more than this.

We arrived at the "Beach Cottage" to find although situated on the Beach front it was also situated in an alleyway in the municipal council beach car park.

We met the caretaker who showed us the power shower, dishwasher and informed us of the freeview tv. And that was the end of that as she said she could'nt be bothered to go back upstairs. The cottage was tired and unclean with a musty sweaty smell permeating from the property. Human hairs was found of the bedside cabinets.

Although there were blue towels supplied we note the toilet roll holder had only 2 mm of paper on it and no further supplied. The bathroom fan light windows on the ground floor would not close even if you wanted them to. Not good for a sense of security.

Paintwork was tired especially downstairs, cracking and bare plaster was showing by patio doors. The patio windows facing out to sea were covered with a dusty coating of sand and crusty splashes of bird droppings.

The patio at the back had a baked potato dumped on decking. A left over from someones bbq.

The Alley way entrance was badly kept with rubble bags and the last lets washing being dried across the alley way. Shanty town comes to mind.

We decided straight away that we would return the next morning. We did not sleep in the beds but laid on top on them.

My wife had a stay at Dunesview ( 200 yards away) a few weeks before and found it to be perfect. But this was a complete depressing nightmare. We reported it and got some money back from the booking agent. But quiet frankly there was no way we were going to stay there for a week.

We note the visitors book had only 3 entries relating to the same time period in April 2013. No further entries since then, mmm . With comments like "The best beach house in England" I wondered if I was in the same property.
