Maison Du Lac Beaumont, Normandy

Myself and 8 other members of my family visited Maison Du Lac Beaumont in August 2015. We had a fantastic week with a property situated in a stunning setting. The property has a lake, row boat, outside grass space, table tennis all within classic gardens. There are 3 properties close by but it remains private.

Unfortunately the property itself does not meet holiday rental standards. The property is in dire need of modernization which would encompass an electrical rewire, new furniture and most importantly bed updates!, new shower purchases, new locks for both doors and some windows do not lock (shut) securely and decor.

Upon arrival the manager of the property explained that a deposit was required which included a lengthy (!) breakdown for what the money was needed for. The hidden gem was additional cleaning costs for each guest regardless of years (youngest age 3!).

We all left the property for a day to visit a local attraction, both doors were locked on exit. When returning to the property the front door was unlocked. This was slightly unsettling.

The disappointment of the property did not dampen the spirits but as a customer who has a level of expectation of an oversees rental property, the interior was well below par.

This property is not fit for the English market ,although first impression is idyllic lovly looking property with lake in front ,problem starts when you walk in ,very old furniture wiring hanging from lights kitchen very old and not cleaned and very tired looking and although basics ie bath and sinks clean there was a lot of dirt about .we had a argument before we left England as they wanted to charge 90 euros for 10 people's cleaning even though only 4 of us were renting ,then when we arrived the lady who met us wanted 10 persons damage deposit which was 350 euros ,which we refused to pay. On top of this nothing worked all door locks were a struggle to move kitchen utensils were useless bulbs missing from lights ,just a good job that we had light nights hate to be there in the dark.overall Lovely looking place but needs all rooms and decor to be completely refurnished
