Kefalonia, Nerissa Apartments

Nerissa Apartments are situated with superb views to the sea from the front of all the apartments, in a small development of just 5 apartments within a lush garden. We got a particularly warm welcome and a very generous welcome pack, with plenty of food and drink to keep us going until we found the minimarket next day. Kefalonia is a beautiful island and not over developed as are some of the other Greek islands. The locals are friendly and helpful and really want you to have a good time.

The owners were on hand to welcome guests and checked up every day (without being intrusive) that you were okay and had everything you needed. The apartments were clean when we arrived and the fresh linens mid-week were also welcome. These apartments represent very good value for money compared with other places we have stayed on the Greek islands and paid twice as much.

Our only disappointment was that we visited towards the end of the season (25th September) and many of the restaurants were closing down, which on other islands does not happen until mid-October. We had planned to eat at the Black Cat (70 metres away) on our last night but it was too late. Although there are lovely sandy beaches not too far away, a hire car is essential. Ask the owner to put you in touch with the local car hire place, because he will give you a good deal and also pick you up at the airport.
