Awful, Rundown And Over Priced!

14 Dos Palmeras, Puerto Pollensa.

We would like to post an honest review, so others don’t suffer a ruined holiday as we did.

We have just returned from a holiday at 14 Dos Palmeras, Puerto Pollensa. We booked through Owners Direct, the owner is Alison Sokolov. We were very unhappy with the apartment and contacted the agent immediately as per the booking instructions.

The main problem was a very strong sewerage/drain smell in the shower room. Even with the window open all the time the smell was awful and it permeated into the bedroom. We were not able to use the shower room at all during our stay. The agent said she had called a plumber and then three days after we arrived turned up with a bottle of Mister Muscle, which only masked the smell slightly. The agent told us she had informed the owner of the issues raised and that the agent had told her she had contacted us, which was incorrect. She also said that the owner did not allow much time for cleaning, and was not bothered about all the complaints and very difficult to work for. The agent agreed with us that the apartment was worn/dated and not well maintained. She was also considering resigning, due to the number of clients who were unhappy.

Other issues with the apartment included:

1. Sticky stains on the kitchen floor.

2. The sink brown and heavily stained.

3. Oven covered in grease and smelled.

4. Half eaten ice lolly welded to a plate in freezer and opened biscuits on cupboard shelves.

5. Kitchen cupboard doors and all utensils covered in a film of grease.

6. All cooking pans were covered in grease and unusable, including 5 frying pans.

7. The water filter didn't work.

8. The shower head over the bath was broken/cracked and dangerous as well as being covered in black mould. The bracket for it to fix to the wall is broken.

9. No plug in the bath so you have to hold a broken shower head over yourself. The sink overflow was disgusting, full of black mould.

10. The sheets and towels are very old & worn. The sheets had "black stains" on them.

Moreover, the apartment was certainly not worth what we had paid for and it really ruined our holiday. On our return home we emailed the owner and were aghast when she replied denying all knowledge of our complaint and she refused to acknowledge any of our concerns. The tone of the email was very rude and she clearly has no regard for her customers, once she has received payment. The owner also informed us that she has sacked the agent with immediate effect, which is quite ironic given that she did not acknowledge any concerns.

We just want to warn people that this apartment is not worth the money and there are many others in the area, and same block that are in better condition and cheaper. Also the customer service has got to be better. We would hate others to have their holiday ruined as we have. This apartment is undoubtedly in a great location, but requires a deal of upgrading; sadly the owners only appear to be interested in profit.
