Beautiful Back Lodge In The Back Of Beyond
We booked this cottage unseen, with no reviews to read, so were more than pleasantly surprised when we arrived.
The cottage is situated just past a farm steading, which you can't see from the cottage because of the trees and a bend in the road. It feels totally secluded, right next to its own piece of woodland, and a track leading down to the coast.
The furnishings are all clean, modern and sturdy. Pine beds in the bedrooms, leather sofas in the sitting room. There is a TV, although why you would want to watch it when the view looks right over Luce Bay to the Rhins Peninsula and lighthouse.
I really have to think, to find something that is not good about this place... maybe the lack of mobile phone signal? No wifi? Nah... surely that's a good thing on holiday!
Oh yes! One of the bedrooms smelt a little bit of damp. But the heating was very efficient and we barely noticed it.
The owner, came to visit us and told us all about local walks and sights. People in Galloway are so friendly, accommodating, and above all, relaxed.
