Review Of Edinburgh City Centre
(2002)Edinburgh Airport is an easily accessible building, with enough facilities and an easy route through arrivals. We found a taxi rank quite easily and were escorted to our hotel for a reasonable price.
When we arrived at the hotel, we found the place to be warm and welcoming. Our check-in was swift and we could get to our rooms quickly and with little stress. A small problem with the electronic key was soon sorted out by the Travel Inn staff who were very helpful.
We soon went into Edinburgh city centre and found a bustling, yet friendly place. It is well signposted and we found the major attractions quickly like the old Town, the lively Princes Street, and the famous Edinburgh Castle. Near Edinburgh Castle are two excellent interactive museums- Camera Obscura and the Scotch Whisky Heritage Centre- entry fees are reasonable and definitely worth it.
The Old town is breathtaking with all of the Georgian houses and quaint shops. We found our family crest in a small shop in the Old Town- there are many.
We found many excellent cafes and restaurants- a favourite of ours being a small cafe down at the base of a church- the name of which escapes me. This is excellent and provides many cakes and buns, sandwiches and three flavours of hot soup, not to mention the many types of tea and coffee.
Overall, Edinburgh was a wonderful place. i hope to return there some time, and would recommend it to any of you who ae reading this review.
