Do Not Touch Them - Theives!
I booked a car through Suncar when I travelled to Oporto with my 4-month old daughter. It was extremely stressful to be told by the car company on arrival that Suncar had not paid them (despite taking my money) and that unless I paid them again I could not take the car. Luckily I paid Suncars by credit card and was able to get the money back through the CC company upon my return (as Suncars ignored all my emails). DO NOT GO NEAR THEM!!!!

In April 2010 I booked a car for September 2010 with Suncar.Co.UK, on the internet, and at the time of booking paid them in full for the hire. I then received a Booking Voucher from them which advised me a car had been reserved for me with Air Auto who were based in Parking Lot P4 at Faro Airport. Unfortunately when I arrived at Air Auto's stand and saw their representative, I was told Suncar had not paid them for the car and, therefore, a car hadn't been reserved for me and my booking voucher was worthless. This left me with no choice but to hire a car from Air Auto direct and pay once again (the cost of which was more than I had initially paid Suncar). PLEASE TAKE THIS AS A WARNING - IF YOU DECIDE TO USE THE INTERNET TO RENT A CAR MAKE SURE THE AGREEMENT IS FOR YOU TO PAY THE RENTAL WHEN YOU PICK UP THE CAR, NOT WHEN YOU BOOK IT. I would add if it is not already obvious to you, I did not receive any refund of monies paid to Suncar

Do not rent a car from this company. I booked my car well in advance and paid in full whilst booking on website. I have done this with several other companie4s and never had a problem. I promptly received my confirmation of purchase and would be collecting my vehicle from a company called Victoria rent a car so far so good. On arrival at destination i was asked for payment in full. I produced my voucher which showed that i had paid in full and was told that no money had been sent to Victoria rent a car. Was left with no choice but to pay again and was assured that i would get my money bach HA HA !! Needless to say after phoning 4 different numbers and sending email ther is no reply. How do companies like this get away with it its fraud.

We Made An Internet Booking On The Evening Of 11th
We made an internet booking on the evening of 11th.September; for a hire car at our destination Airport for Saturday 12th November. A response was shortly received by us, from SunCar saying that they would confirm that the chosen car was available for us at our destination, within two days.
After six days and receiving no contact, I went back online and cancelled the booking. The next day we received a call from SunCar saying that they didn't have the particular car we booked available, but could offer us an alternative. We declined their offer and explained that we had cancelled the booking and had found an alternative supplier at our destination.
Imagine our surprise when we received our CC statement to find that Decode had debited our card for the full amount on the 15th.September.
Since then we have constantly tried to contact them, when I ring them the phone disconnects after two rings. They will not respond to emails either. But their web site is still up and running and taking bookings.
We have contacted our CC Company and spoke with them again today, and were told by them that "Quite a few of our customers have made complaints about SunCar and no car being available for them at their destinations, in the past few weeks".
We will eventually get our refund but not until after we have travelled to our destination Airport and find no car available, even though we cancelled the booking and SunCar said that they didn't have the car available. Suncar Is A Subsidiary Of Decode Car Hire, Registe
SunCar is a subsidiary of Decode Car Hire, registered in Riga. You discover this when you credit statement arrives. The next thing that you discover is that the company engages in fraud. Although you pre-pay the car hire, SunCar 'forgets' to pass your money to the rental company in the place of car hire. Once there, you have no other choice but to pay again and try to recover the monies from SunCar. That is of course pretty useless, since they have no intention of refunding. The matter is now with the City of London financial police and Trading Standards officers, so one can hope that the company will be banned from trading in the UK and the employees/owners eventually sent to prison.

Do Not Rent A Car From Suncar Under Any Circumstan
DO NOT RENT A CAR FROM SUNCAR UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. We paid in full (200 euros) before we left the UK. When we presented our prepaid voucher at Thessaloniki airport we were that it was not acceptable as the car hire co in Greece never actually receive any payments from Suncar. I was forced to pay for the car again. Have tried to Contact Suncar on my return without success. I have now referred the matter to Master Card to take up on my behalf. There is an article in yesterdays Telegraph (9/10/10) A reader had exactly the same problem as me. The advice from the Telegraph is do not hire a car from this company, they tried to contact Suncar on behalf of a reader and could not get an answer to emails or phone calls.
I ONLY GAVE THEM 1 STAR AS I COULDN'T GIVE THEM 0 STARS. Please be warned, I am going to try to contact Google about this as got Suncar as result of a Google search.
