New Zealand Rent A Car, Wellington

Absolutely worst company to deal. Installed an old set of tires on our car, which blew out immediately after hitting some small construction in south Island. We were charged by the auto services for tire replacement even though the auto service company found rentalcarnz.com at fault.

Even after a phonecall with the head of New Zealand Rent A Car in Christchurch, we were still told it was our fault for not buying "tire insurance" and thus we were responsible.

The car we hired/rented was a piece of junk to begin with, well over 120,000 miles, a failed A/C (thankfully it was cool outside), and an awful interior that was well stained.

Wish we just paid a bit more and went with someone reputable.

Booked a 2010 car for 10 days, we received a heap of rubbish. Picked it after hours so unable to protest. Were charged double for the same car i found through another renatl place for halfthe price! Dog hair all through the car, car smelt of wet carpet. GPS was old and outdated,constanlty lost and unable to rely on it! Baby capsule buckles were faulty! Never again with this company!

Actually I don't even give this outfit 1 star. I had a confirmed booking but when I arrived to pick up the car, the yard was locked. I telephoned and was told that the booking did not exist and there were no cars. The man I spoke to was rude and unhelpful. I would warn anyone away from this company.
