We landed at Heraklion Airport and we decided to rent a car for 8 days. Our apartment was in Agina Marina (140 kms far) so we checked the local car renting companies to find maybe a soluiton. I told the man that i need a car which i can drop at the airport (i did not know that there are more than 1 airport in Crete) The man told me that that is not a problem as he will take us (7 person) to the airport. He did not mention either the name of the airport, just said "airport". We make a deal, not so cheap for 8 days but i thought that our transport is included to Heraklion so it was OK. When we arrived to the office on the day of departure, the foreginer manager told me on an unacceptable way that he won't take us to Heraklion, because he did not tell me the word "HEraklion" (Did not tell me Chania neither), only airport which means the neraest one, Chania... For him, but for me the airport meant Heraklion as i knew only this one. He thought that i wnat to fool him and spoke on a way which is absolutely unacceptable from a company which lives from the tourists, customers....

It is clear that maybe it was a misunderstnading from both sides, but the way they tried to solve this is totaly disgusting and not the way it should be solved in 2010 in EUROPE!!!!

Finally they offered that for 100 EUR they take us (7 people)to Heraklion with the 9 pers minibus. We said OK because we had to catch our flight and the shouting took already 30 min.

We payed the 100 EUR without signing any document with the man and put our luggages to the minibus. When we sat in the car the man came to us to say that we have to refuel the minibus over the 100 EUR that we already payed and we did not depart until i confirmed that i will pay the fuel also for this trip.

At that point i decided to avoid that company and share my experience with as many people i can!!

We hired a Euro Motor car in Stalis Crete, they were very helpful and very funny "piece of cake" is one of their sayings, they will take the time to find out what sort of things you would like to see and explain as much as he can to make things more interesting for you, tell you little bits of info about places and also personal experiences. they told us about a sweet water lake, which is a lovely term for fresh water.
