Experience Mall On Its Own

Changi airport is like an experience mall on its own. There are always new events to catch travelers' attraction. For instance, there are Christmas acrobatics and performances at the end of the year. I especially like the Indoor movie theatre and the Butterfly Park that is within the airport itself. Only downside is the shops can be expensive unless there is a sale.

Lovely Place

Love Singapore airport. Used to fly via HK, which is also good, but Changi is better. It's a nice place to be for a few hours which is staggering for an airport.

Top tip - go to the food hall in the middle of the two main wings. Locate the chinese lady in the corner, asleep behind massive towers of steamed buns. Wake here up, then point at a few, and order them. Lovely !

Undeniably One Of The Best Airports In The World!

undeniably one of the best airports in the world! Fast efficient clean.

They have lots of different shops and eateries as well. Love it how I am in a taxi usually less than an hour after I get off the plane.

Wow! Changi Airport Is A Great Place To Get Off A

Wow! Changi Airport is a great place to get off a plane for a few hours. I regularly travel to and from Australia, and I always make sure I stop at Changi for at least a few hours. There is plenty to do and see.

The shops are very good too, but be careful what you buy there, as some electrical goods I have purchased there have had a limited 90 day guarantee.

I personally like Harry's Bar. The staff are so friendly, and even the entertainers came and sat with me for a chat during their break.

It is a fantastic place to stop and rest a while on your travels.

Changi Airport Is Intended To Be A Showpiece And I

Changi Airport is intended to be a showpiece and it pretty much lives up to that. It is clean, efficient and all you'd expect. However immigration on arrival can be slow, particularly if you are on a very busy flight, it's not unheard of to have to wait 20 mins or so to get through, though baggage reclaim is excellent which makes up for it.

Food is excellent, though some of the cafes aimed at travellers are too expensive and not impressive, there is a food court hidden away which dishes up good food at good prices. There is a decent place to eat on the top floor of T2 "Tastes of Changi".

One thing to be wary of is long walks. The airport is larger than really needed, and there are a lot of long walks on both departure and arrival, so make sure to allow enough time ot get too your gate, and also for any connections or appointments you make for onward land transport.

To and From Changi:

MRT:

The airport is connected to a branch of the East West Line of the MRT. You will need to change trains at Tanah Merah (easy to do, no steps). Not suitable for heavy luggage. Trains runs 5:30am to midnight (last connecting train Westbound for City and Boon Lay is around 11:15pm though), up till midnight for Eastbound to Pasir Ris. Customer service office at Changi station sells EZLink stored value cards for use on all public transport. The MRT station is in T2 (take the SkyTrain from T1 to connect)

BUS:

Buses depart from the ground floor of both terminals. Services as follows:

#22 to Ang Mo Kio

#27 to Hougang (via Tampines)

#34 to Punggol

#36 Marine Parade, Stamford Rd (City Centre) and Orchard Road

#53 Bishan (via Serangoon)

#858 Woodlands (connecting bus to JB) (runs via Yishun)

Buses need EZLink card (buy at Cust Service at Changi MRT) or exact fare in cash.

Taxis:

Taxis are metered. Surcharge applies to service to and from airport. Recommended for passengers with luggage as public transport can be crowded. Fares are reasonable and traffic usually not so bad. Allow S$25 for journey to city centre hotels, less for East Coast and Geylang hotels. Driver should take you via the ECP expressway for hotels in Geylang or City. In Singapore it is not common to tip taxi drivers.

Cruise Centre and Sentosa Island:

Both of these destinations can be easily reached from harbourfront MRT station (North East Line). The station is within the cruise centre complex, and a shuttle buse runs from here to Sentosa.
