Boots

I’ve been to Newcastle airport twice this month and I am amazed at a particular shopping assistant and the team in Boots. I made a purpose point of getting the shopping assistant's name today as for being in customer service over 20 years I cannot not commend excellent standards. The shopping assistant is attentive, listens to queries and is very friendly. My return to boots today was due to hoping she was at work as she made my airport experience memorable. You cannot not recognise her presence and her attitude to work. I look forward to seeing her on the make up section.

This Airport Think It's Justified To Charge People

This airport think it's justified to charge people £51.99 for overnight parking and when you message them they offer a 10% discount, when everyone is struggling with life at the minute this is absolutely outrageous! Shame on you Newcastle Airport

Great Service For Mobility Impaired Passengers

Went to Newcastle to fly out to Paris with an elderly relative. Asked at the information area if there were any wheelchairs available as he found he was unable to walk far. The service we got was excellent. A young man helped in an efficient and smooth manner. Got us to the gate and gave all our details to the next steward who helped us aboard. Not only that, but found out they had contacted our destination so the next team was waiting for us.

Outstanding service, friendly staff and definitely smoothed our journey.

Only gripe was the car parks. Went to get rental car and pick up my relative at the doors and had to pay for a stay of about 5 minutes. Very unreasonable for drop off/ pick up area.

Drinking Fountain

Why does this airport not have a drinking fountain like other airports in this country. They must have spent thousands of pounds putting in all the new retail areas so why not a drinking fountain. The public are entitled to drinking water without having to pay exorbitant prices for bottled water especially when we are all being told to reduce plastic usage.

Newcastle Airport Departure Lounge

I have recently experienced the modernisation of the departure lounge. To be honest I was underwhelmed. The experience now involves a host of shops, bars and eating establishments - much like most airports these days but where we are lacking here is just a departure lounge! somewhere to sit in relative peace and quiet. Unless you wish to eat or drink, you are condemned to a scruffy corner with hugely outdated and worn out seating. Maybe there are plans for this to be addressed in phase II? At the moment very poor for the traveller who does not want a bar at 5am!

Improved

The new security area has greatly improved the time taken to clear security.

On the last two occasions we returned to Newcastle, there were more staff on passport control and passengers were cleared quickly and pleasantly.

Both of these improvements meant a more pleasant experience using the airport.

The only downside was on collecting our baggage on the evening of 22 March 2013, the security doors through customs were locked. I think all the baggage had been collected and a large queue had formed before the doors were opened - leaving a lot of frustrated passengers.

Security Staff

Why is it that Newcastle airport seems to be the only UK or European airport that still insists you take your shoes off. There is nowhere to sit to take boots, shoes etc. off although there are seats once you have got past the jobsworths. Security, I am all in favour of but the machine

Potentially Dangerous Security Doors

a great little airport in many respects, except for passenger safety, specifically the electronic security doors exiting the baggage reclaim area. 7 weeks ago my wife and I were returning from holiday, and as we exited, the electronic security doors slammed into my wife, severely bruising her down one side of her body.(this required medical treatment). The response of the airport management has been lack lustre. No written reply (other than an acknowledgement), has been received to a formal letter of complaint sent to the airport management 7weeks ago. One can only conclude that the airport management are happy for the odd random innocent service user to sustain serious injuries in the persuit of security. Unfortunately we have 2 further flights booked at newcastle later this year, but after that, the chance of them getting our business in the future is nil.Back to manchester airport in the future, where customers are treated with respect

The Hire Car Companies Are Running A Low-quality C

The hire car companies are running a low-quality cartel santioned by the airport. Despite booking IN ADVANCE, Hertz had run out of cars at 11:00 am (13 hours of the dat still to go!). Had to pay 100% more to get a car from one of the other cartel members, who said "oh it's usually us who run out of cars". Not impressed. Why would anyone do business in the north-east, if this is the level of service the primary air portal gives? Why does the airport exclude other companies who might care about customers?

Who On Earth Marketed Newcastle Airport Parking Ar

who on earth marketed Newcastle airport parking arrangements must have to be shot, very user unfriendly, so expensive for such short parking times, even the cabbies have to pay to pick up, read in the local newspaper that management replied 'this is what the people want', who are they?, a load of labour leaders with Tony Bliar at the helm, last time i used this airport there wasn't a soul that wasn't travelling in sight, can't understand why Starbucks isn't pulling out, they certainly haven't any customers left.
