Stinking Restrooms Rest Areas

The complete restroom area needs betterment. It needs more privacy. The stink moves outside too. Cleanliness needs improvement. The air blower for drying hands needs more hotter air

First Direct Flight To Stansted

First security would not let us in because the ticket was not printed on a paper. Even though when the passenger 80 year old mother was through the gate, security staff would not let any other family member through, when asked why he did not had a clue, eventually did let only ONE member through after my mother was already gone through to the plane. Rude and totally unprofessional staff. Please make sure to have a few extra hours just to deal with these goons.

ONLY AIRPORT THAT CHARGE MEMBERS OF FAMILY TO GET ADMISSION IN THE AIRPORT, WHY?

I Recently Travelled With My Family From Amritsar

I recently travelled with my family from Amritsar to Doha in Qatar airlines on flight number 549 on August 16 th. My cabin bag with jewelry vanished midair before plane landed in Doha. Only the staff who scanned the bag can know about the contents. I highly suspect some ground staff was working in collision with the someone from flight crew. Very disappointed to fly from Amritsar airport. We have been flying internationally for last 15 + years but never had an experience like this.

Rude Immigration Staff

Immigration staff unfriendly, rude and act like they are doing you a favour, no thank you or please. Don't know what they are doing, sending us back and forth, between them and check in desk, he continued to argue with check in manager, then stormed off with our documents not saying where he was going and how long for. He returned 10 mins later, no apology, continued to be rude.

Big Rats In Airport And Inadequate Arrangement 4 Wheelchairs

There are huge Rats as big as Cats in the Airport. Its the worst form of hygiene besides being Dangerous to Health and property/ luggage/wires.

The ground staff which brings you from the plane in a wheelchair is untrained. They have very few wheelchairs. They bring you a few feet from the plane and make you sit on benches. And disappear. For hours. The staff is also untrained and smelly.

The toilets are inadequate and smelly as well.

I have had a couple of bad experiences here. Whenever I vidit Punjab from abroad, I stay over in Delhi for a day but I never, ever get off at Amritsar.

Guru Ram Das International Airport (amritsar)

Excellent Airport for connection to the Punjab - saves alot of time traveling from New Delhi to Punjab. The Indian govt does not encourage its development because it will take allot of passenger numbers from New Delhi. One study showed 70% passengers into New Delhi go into the Punjab state.

So this is why it only has limited numbers of connections and airlines to this city. However for those traveling to the Punjab this is the closet airport. It is reasonable to expect some poor service and facilities not being world class - but its satisfactory. Remember different places have different way of doing things. The amenities can be improved and each year they are as the airport gets busier.

Overall a satisfactory airport with average levels of service - although plenty to improve on.

Compared To 2009, The Airport Now Is Amazing!!!

I have been traveling from Amritsar Raja sansi airport almost every year, the airport now looks fantastic compared to 2009. Althought there are less passengers traveling each day compared to other international airports but the infrenstructure looks great and even from the outside, the new glass and the whole building looks fabulous. Just like airports in U.S. I love traveling from/to Amritsar now from This airport. Its convenient for me also. i'm sure there will be more passengers traveling to/from Amritsar International Airport as soon as more international fligts start departing/landing in Amritsar.

By Far And Away The Worst Airport I Have Ever Been To.

I've been to Amritsar airport on two occasions and the experience of going there was terrible during both times.

The airport looks messy, is poorly finished (interior-wise), and is very disorganised - particularly the queuing system. But worst of all is the customer service. Staff at the airport are unfriendly, unwilling to offer help to passengers, and very self-important - they act as though they think they're so important that they have the right to be as rude and discourteous as they want. The last time I was there, in 2011, one immigration officer started a massive argument with me and my Dad over a minor misunderstanding - wasting a lot of time in the process.

Getting through immigration at this airport is another problem. They are so bureaucratic, that they seem to think it is necessary for your passport to be checked by about a hundred different staff members during one visit, even if you're leaving the country (why?). It causes going through immigration to be an extremely long drawn-out process. Compare that with what they do at European airports - they normally only need to check your passport once (at least if you're leaving a country), and they at least try and get you through immigration checks quickly, and in an organised manner. The exact opposite is the case at Amritsar airport.

Amritsar airport still has a very long way to go to reach the standards of others. The staff could really do with some much better training, because they gave the WORST customer service I have ever received the last time I went there (in Oct 2011).
