Worst Flight Attendants
I read an article regarding the worst flight attendants and virgin came in fourth! I dis-agree it should had come in 1st! I have flown VA numerous times and the flight attendants are very arrogant! I will avoid this airline (Virgin) as much as it is possible.
Customer Service is a thing of the past for Virgin America.
Best Flying Experience For Us Domestic Flights
I first flew Virgin America because of the in-flight wifi and cheap rates. The prices have now come to be about the same as other US Domestic flights but the service and amenities are still much better than the other airlines.
The wifi is on all flights so unlike big airlines like United and American you don't have to wonder if you are going to have it. The inflight tv is nice, too. An underrated service is being able to order food and drink right from your seat through the in-seat monitor. Unlike most other US airlines, no longer are you a slave to the timing of the food and beverage cart nor do you have to put up with a put-out expression from the flight attendant when you push the call button because you're starving. And the Virgin America flight attendants are actually nice an helpful, not scowling!
Bottom line - wifi, great inflight service, helpful and happy staff, reasonable prices.
Unpleasant Experience I Won't Be Repeating.
I am an International traveller who flew 17 International flights last year. This was my first experience with Virgin. And will be my last. I spent 12 hours on an International flight AK to LA , before flying Virgin from LA to NYC. I had requested an isle seat but was instead allocated a window seat in a row in where the seats couldnt be adjusted. Immediately after takeoff the passenger in front of me lowered his seat so that I had my tray table in my face. I asked to be moved and was shown by a hand signal only, where a spare seat was. The passengers I sat next to in the spare seat were obviously irritated when I squeezed in beside them. The stewardess had made no effort to explain my new seating to them. Not pleasant.
6 hours later I arrived in NYC 11.45pm. The bags came and went until I was the only person left in the baggage hall waiting. No bags. At 1.15am I discovered the Virgin Cubbyhole at the far end of the hall. As soon as I said my name I was told that my bags had been sent to Boston in error.
After giving my NYC details for delivery of the bags, I went to wait for a taxi. It was freezing at that time in the morning and it had started to snow. I arrived at my destination at 2.30 am chilled to the bone and extremely upset. I assumed wrongly that as Boston is such a short trip from NYC that my bags would be delivered the next day. No such luck. Every time I phoned for information I was told we will call you straight back. 5 hours later !!!!! Very unsatisfactory. A day later I had a severe chill, sore throat etc. all my winter clothes were in my lost bags. I was so cold and no effort was made on the part of the Airline to do anything to help. In the end my bags were delivered late on Wednesday night but by then I was really unwell. What a way to start a holiday.
Having spent over $5000 on return flights from NZ to NYC I had expected better service from the connecting Airline suggested by Air NZ. I will definitely never fly Virgin again if I can help it.

I Love This Airlines. I Travel 2-3 Times A Month,
I love this airlines. I travel 2-3 times a month, so I'm in the air quite often. Luckily for me, most of my flights are to Washington DC, Boston and San Francisco, which Virgin America supports. Their planes are new and very nice. All the modern amenities, impressive personal entertainment systems, good food, and excellent service. They have the BEST domestic first class, although only 8 seats per flight. This newer airline will give you a good flying experience.
The Virgin America Flights Are Crowded, There Is A
The Virgin America flights are crowded, there is absolutely no leg room to move, so if you are out of shape then I wouldn't recommend flying this airline. You will be charged for just about everything you can think of, from luggage, water, snacks etc. The flights are delayed and the taxes that you pay are ridiculous!
For instance, even if you have a death in your family, they are very unwilling to waive the penalties for your flight to change or get a credit back. What kind of company runs like this? No wonder they offer the $5 fares
I fly all the time and this is by far the worst airline!
Not my experience with this airlines at all. I guess if you want special exceptions to published rules, they may push back.
I found this review unhelpful because...they have a policy for changes required due to family emergencies or deaths. the change fee they charge at the time to make the change is waived once you fax in documentation of the reason.

Virgin America airline crew were really nice and respectful, the seats are comfortable and price pretty cheap (esp during the weekdays!)

Virgin America give fresh and youthful service but still very professional. Not as good at Virgin Atlantic but better than ALL other domestic airlines in the USA I've flown.

I Flew This Airline With A Group, And We Had A Rea
I flew this airline with a group, and we had a really fun flight. You can order drinks (non-alcoholic stuff is free) from your seat, rather than waiting for flight attendants to come around. The airline still cares about its customers, unlike what I experienced on US Airways or United.

Overall Virgin America Is A Great Airline With Alm
Overall Virgin America is a great airline with almost no problems. I went from Las Vegas by the way of San Francisco to get to Seattle. Since San Francisco is the hub and this is a new airline, most of your flights will make a change in SFO. On my return flight I was able to get a business up grade for $50.00 and the 35.00 I paid for the better seat in econo was deducted and I only paid $15.00. Nice class of service as good as any for a short haul. This is a great airline, no lost luggage all went smooth, always full. I took this flight April 2008 and will use this airline any time it fits my route. Also V-Australia is to start up soon from LAX 2008 or 2009.
