Tarom

On Friday, 13/11/2015 I was flying with Tarom in the flight RO273 from Bucharest to Athens.

I had check in and drop luggage by 17:30. And at the time of the boarding I had to visit the ladies room. So, your airlines didn't announce my name on the loudspeaker and the aiplane just left without me. When I go to your desk on the Otopeni airport the employee laught with the situation and he didn't try to help me.

Furthermore, I went to the lost and found and my luggage was traveling to Athens without me (I am informed that this is prohibited). So after the land of this flight I went again on the desk and there was another employee (woman this time) that tell that she cannot know where is my luggage. Her behaviour was unacceptable she was screaming at me that this is not her job , she even tell me that if I don't leave from her desk she will call the police. After a big argue she fainally call someone and informed her that my luggage is at lost and found in Eleutherios Venizelos Athens Airport.

The good times, when the meals, were really meals, are gone, but, still, comparing with LOT...is pretty good... I travel a lot with Tarom(I am romanian as well) and I see the changes that is going down, the services are not that good anymore, but the prices are going up, the stuff is the same- friendly.

BUT, the lost luggage customer services...are lousy- when I got a transfer from a delayed flight,and my luggage did not arrived at the same time as me, the customer services of this department was not able to deal in the rigth manner. Because of poor comunication betwwen the employees, I recovered the luggage after 2 days, when normally it would have been possible to recover it the next day...

I have traveled a lot with European Airliners and, from my experience, i have to say that Tarom is by far the best. Aircrafts are clean, staff friendly and the pilots execute excellent take-offs and landings. Flights are rarely delayed, and if they are, that almost always happens due to poor weather conditions. The only con that i can think of is that they charge rather high price for their tickets, as compared to other big airliners (like BA, KLM and so on).

I "miss-booked" a flight with TAROM (through an agency), and that agency want me to pay twice as much as I paid for the tickets to change my booking. I didn't want to do that, so I chose to buy more tickets WITHOUT canceling my other order. I booked with the same agency. When it came time to fly, I found out I wasn't on the list, and I had to buy another round of tickets. I paid over $1.5 grand for that short flight. When I got back home, I checked my credit card and email, and found out that the booking company charged my card, sent the money to TAROM, and sent me the verification. Someone at TAROM clearly put some money in their pockets. I'm not the only one with this experience. I've spoken to 2 other people who suffered near the same fate with the company.

Flying with this company was a relaxing experience comparing to what other "airlines" like wizzair. I liked the staff which was very helpful and amiable.

As I said , flying with tarom from previously using wizzair was a huge leap as you get well treated; the seats were comfortable, there was enough legroom and the service was civilised.

I would rather use Tarom despite the rather high prices (although considerably cheaper than BA) than trying to save some £20-50 to a budget airline and ending up to some nasty surprises.

All in all I would recommend anyone flying to or from Romania as this airline would not disappoint .

Tarom is a great flight company, nice landings and nice crews.
