Going Bankrupt
I bought tickets for may 2017 . My flight is no longer listed from CUR to BON. I've written Insel air x2 asking them to change my tickets to a listed flight. No response. I've made multiple phone calls to multiple numbers and no one answers. I don't like that Insel Air has taken my money but won't respond to my queries.
Do Not Book With Insel!
I will never fly Insel Air again. I booked the flight because the time worked better for me than an American flight the same day. However, they showed flight as on time until 15 minutes prior to departure and then announced an hour and a half delay for no reason whatsoever - with the aircraft sitting right at the gate. When I asked the gate agent if it was mechanical or what she said they did not tell her why but the plane was just not ready to go. While in the gate area two other Intel flights were announced as delayed for several hours Totally unacceptable. Never book with this airline I know I never will. Why even have a schedule if you have no intention of keeping it? Furious.
Hell On Earth, Horrible
Poor service, rude employees, stuck in Curacao for almost two days, place in filthy, run down hotel, room smells like urine, woke up with rash all over my skin from bed bugs bite, still no information on when my flight will leave just very horrible, buyers beware don't fly insel you will regret it. Horrible, horrible they deserve worst than an F grade, unexplainable.
Worst Airline
This is a ridiculous airline. I traveled to curaçao from Aruba. They got lost my luggage without scan tape. I only stayed 7 days for my vacation. I came to airport to find my luagge more than 10 times. No response and the staffs were helpless. They were not willing to help you to find your luggage. At the last day of my vacation, the head of lose and found promised me that the luggage would be sent back to airport at 6:30pm. But when I came to claim my luagge, the staffs still said this was not here and still at Aruba. I asked the staffs to help me call aruba to confirm, but the staffs seems like I don't care and keep saying can't contact aruba. The most ridiculous thing was I explained my situation to the lady who was in the check in counter that she yelled at us and said "I'm done with you. I don't talk to you anymore. I won't help you make the call. I don't care and you are fuxking ridiculous." I have never and ever seen the customer service like this. The worst customer service in the world. The staffs are uneducated. They don't know how to deal with their customers and never respect people. I swear I won't take this airline anymore and never recommend my friend and family to choose this airline. Moreover, I won't come curaçao again. Uneducated people in this island.
Bad Customer Service
A group of 12 of us missed our flight into curacao to continue on to bonaire from curacao. We called from mia and had to rebook our entire flights even though the return trip was just fine. We were charged again for the same flights. We recevied email confirnations. We arrived in curacao and went to the counter to check in and were told we had no reservations. Got sent to the ticket office and two hours later finally had tickets and repaid for our flights. After returning home we asked for 1/2 the cost of the new flights to be refunded ans basically told tough. Maybe with all this diuble charging they could fix their run down airline and make the sewer smell go away!
Be Warned! Do Not Use This Airline
I am a travel agent and I am warning the public to not book this airline.
My clients had a 5-hour delay in Aruba and missed their cruise sailing out of Miami. It has been a painful experience. You cannot get a hold of any live person and no one responds back in reference of the Case Number you create under the customer service form. Book American Airlines instead and do not bother with this airline.
Worst Choice For Airline
The customer service stinks to say the least. They can not keep a schedule. I would never recommend this airline to anyone.
No accommodations were made when both flights were delayed. Specific questions were not answered by the staff in Miami. This is a poorly run company. No consideration for the customer. Terrible airline never use them.
Worst Airline Ever.
They are happy to take your money, change your flight at the last minute, treat you like dirt and offer no customer service. Do everything you can to not fly this airline.
Insel Airline July 2013 Rt Miami-bonaire
My wife & I flew round trip Miami to Bonaire with a plane change in Curacao July 7-15 2013. We had no problems with the airline. Flights were on time even early in some cases. There was no entertainment on our flights. Food serve (complimentary sandwich & drink) Miami to Curacao and Curacao to Miami. The staff was friendly & helpful. Keep in mind English is not the primary language spoken. The jets are old vintage MDs. The price was reasonable. The flights were comfortable. Flights Miami-Curacao-Miami were not full. We would consider flying Insel airline again for these legs.
Note: Bonaire airport doesn't open until 6:00am.
Not Bad For The Price
We flew Insel Air on 12/22/12 out of Charlotte direct to Curacao. Although our plane left 2 hours late the ground crew and flight crew were courteous and helpful. Our flight on 12/29/12 out of Curacao direct to Charlotte left 1 hour late. I don't like delays or cancelations, but I have to say for the price we paid for the tickets about 50% less than American Airlines the flights was good. I do see how if you had connecting flights then this airline might not be the one to take, but for final destination like ours it was good. The baggage fews were great, can't get better than FREE. (2 free checked bags and 1 carry on and 1 personal item per person) They served a sandwich, snacks and multiple beverages during our 4 hour flight plus had a drawing for a free flight. (that was something that is unheard of) The airline does have some problems especially with being on-time, but it is a caribbean island carrier and they have a very laid back attitude. As you will see that on the islands themselves no one seems to get in a hurry unless of course they are driving. I would recommend this airline if you are flying direct from point A to point B with no connections.
I disagree about your comment on island people. Like all other places where job, place to go and be at certain times.
But to tarnish your opinion of us, we are not "laid back whenever I get to it" people. You've just happened to run into the kind that deals with your industry - tourism; and not the kind that deals with everyday living for residents.
Please don't compare their behaviour to the population as a whole. It's unfair.
Nevertheless I'm glad you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you revisit again.
