Travcotels Jaz Regency

Just spent a weeks cruise on the regency jazz. What a fantastic week it was. Not being drinkers we never took the option of £115 all inclusive so cant comment on whether it was worth it or not. No sooner had we joined the ship we were on the move. The cabins were spotlessly clean as were the bed linen and towels and they were kept that way all week. We paid the £90 each to go on the optional Abu Simbal trip. Some people were put off by the 4.35 start and the 3 and a half hour each way journey but we slept most of it and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our holiday. Abu Simbel is awesome. There was something going on most nights belly dancer Arab dress up night etc. The food of course was gorgeous. Plenty of choice. The money is easy to work out 10 Egyptian pounds to one English. Envelopes are given out at the end of the trip for tipping the crew and guides.its up to the individual what you give but they'll deserve every penny. On the point of tipping if you are the sort of person who gets upset by people constantly after you for tips then be prepared to be very very upset.but please thank your lucky stars it's not you.if you buy anything haggle. They expect it. By the way you'll meet some really nice people.

Travelled on the Jazz Regency late January 2011 and had a great time the cabin was fine and clean the food very good and did not hear of anybody getting stomach upset. The excursions where excellent with a guide who is very informative.

We took the extra excursion to Abu Simbel and travelled by air well worth doing this if you are prepared to pay a lot more.

We paid for all inclusive £113 each and found this to be a good deal. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

A couple on the trip said it was their 5 time on the Nile and this was the best boat they had been on.

Tip read up on the sights before you leave and that way you can take more of the guide's information.

Cons they pack you in like sardines on the flight apart from that all good and would I recommend the Jazz Regency yes

Absolutely fantastic, it was all and more than we expected. We upgraded to all inclusive which was well worth it. All the team on board are excellent and cannot do enough to make your experience of Egypt great.Even though there was little entertainment on board the cabin crew kept everyone entertained with all the towel origami they surprised us with. One thing to be advised of you will need to take Eqyptian pounds with you as the antiquity sites will only accept this currency, we had dollars and even though all other places accept them, entrance to the tombs and temples will not. The Jaz Regency was very, very clean and comfortable and the staff were all friendly and the food was good, hot and plentiful. One definitely not to be missed.

Having not long returned from a trip on the Regency I can only say what a wonderful time we had, the trips were great and the sites superb,early starts mind you and in the heat,average of 40C,you will appreciate this, however rest and recuperating back on board with our fellow passengers was a delight, which started the moment we arrived back on board being greeted by the staff with a glass of juice and warm towel to wipe away the dust.To avoid having to reach for the wallet we upgraded to all inclusive and will do so next time. My wife found the kindness of the staff wonderful, she suffers from ill health (asthmatic) and sometimes is up and around at night,the staff catered for her nightly tea requirements superbly, I can only praise the crew from top to bottom in all departments for their kindness and the way they looked after us. Our tour rep and our guide were always helpful and informative,Want to visit a country with wonders abounding ? and a group of people dedicated to their job that is to make your stay brilliant? then go on the Regency and take a cruise.

We have just got home from a wonderful cruise on the Jaz Regency Ship.We did about 10 excursions over the 7 nights stay,The weather was really hot,But very nice.We were booked on a full board basis but was able to upgrade to all inclusive,which we found was worth it.

The ship was very clean and cosy.The Manager and staff made everyone feel very welcome from the minute you step foot on board.There was a great variety of food.I myself am vegetarian and the head chief made a special meal for me each night.our room was very cosy with a great view while sailing.And the pool may be small but you'll be suprised how many people can fit in while the weather is HOT!

Overall a a wonderful experience.Thank you all :-)

We have just done a Cruise on the Nile Beauty she is one of the smaller Nile Cruisers, all the staff were very friendly, good entertainment, if you are dressing up for the Fancy Dress night buy your Robes from in the town, we paid way over the odds at the shop onboard, you can still rent the rest of your costume from there.

Staff were amazing all very friendly and helpful. Food excellent especially the seven course meal we had on the 2nd evening it was out of this world. Entertainment on board was low key but the Egyptian night was tremendous every person on board dressed in typical costume great fun and games were very clever indeed. The belly dancing show was again very good. The cabins on board were very big and well decorated and comfortable. Look out for the towel displays. Excellent trips we saw some amazing temples. Excellent value for money 100% quality and quanity, all staff amazing. Will definitely go againMore entertainment could be provided. The strict timings for meals were a minus for us. Tipping, this became quite a nightmare didn't really know who to tip and how much. All staff expected tip.

I loved every minute of my seven days on Travcotels Regency. I don't think the temples, tombs and market wouldn't have been half as great without the warm, cosy atmosphere onboard.

Everyone was kind and polite and the crew too had the time to chat and get to know you.

The food was excellent.

Will go again next year.

They may remember us from this trip as my wife had a fall in the bathroom but that has not put us off. And even though it was the last day and people were coming and going the management went all out to get us a cabin, food, fruit and drinks for a couple of hours.

holiday was booked from Thomsons on a different boat - the RA 11, and we were only told at the airport that we would be on this boat. After being intitally worried, we could not have had a better time. Service, cleanliness and care of the guests were top priorities and all the staff went out of their way to make the trip exceptional. Even the cabin boys excelled themselves with the towel sculptures each day providing a laugh. We were later told that Thomson had only used this boat for the last couple of weeks and having later seen the RA11, we really dropped lucky. You could not fail to enjoy a holiday on this boat
