Radamis I Movenpick

I loved the Radamis 1. It was exceptionally clean and the views from our cabin was amazing. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Would book the Radamis again.

My husband and I took a Nile cruse on Movenpick RADAMIS Nile Cruiser from 12/4 to 12/7, with final destination in Luxor.

After much negotiation with the Movenpick Egypt reservations and the hotel, the best rate we could get to was $300 per night. As soon as we got on the boat, we have realized that our rate was more than 30% more than the rate that was paid by occupants of surrounding us cabins at $200 per night. This is even more surprizing as Movenpick guarantees the best rate on thier website, I don't understand why there are different rates being charged--and they are not willing to honor thier own policy.

As we got on the ship, the reservations manager on the ship, told us that we were upgraded to the luxury cabin (the front cabin on the ship). Little did we know, that the first night on the ship and the only night that we did not have to get up for a planned excursion, we were woken up by a terribly loud mechanical noise at 6.30am. We have called the reception to find out the reason for it and were told that the noise was coming from the outside, which clearly was not the case. My husband had to go down to the reception, get the manager look into the situation and finally they realized that the noise was coming from the pool pump that was turned on to pump the water. The pump was stopped and almost immediately they started cleaning windows and floors outside our cabin interrupting our sleep again. We have spoken to the manager on the ship that day, who assured us that this will not happen again. However, on the last day the same procedure was repeated waking us up again at 6.30am. Needless to say, waking up with terrible mechanical noise 2 nights out of 3 spent on the ship, did not put us in the good mood or helped us relax.

The Radamis 1 is a lovely boat. It is slightly older than it appears on the pictures on the Movenpick site, however, it is still in a very good condition and very comfortable. The rooms were nice and spacious. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent. I had a really good trip and would book again on this boat.

We waited at the Lock for 28 hours and missed half of our cruise. There was no view as boats were tired up beside us, it was like a prison and everyone on the boat was unhappy. There were no complimentary drinks with any meals, you had to pay for everything. We paid for a 5 star cruise and got a 2 star cruise for our money. Would not recommend it to anyone.

Overall the cruise went well but what made the experience great were the people that were on the cruise with us.
