Granada Is A 5-star Nile Cruise, And We Went On A
Granada is a 5-star Nile Cruise, and we went on a 3-day cruise from Aswan to Luxor. The cruise vessel itself is decent and clean. Rooms are sufficient and washrooms well maintained. The front desk staff though were very unfriendly and unresponsive. For instance, despite several reminders, they did not change the light bulb that had fused in the cabin we stayed in. Also, on the day we checked out of the cruise, the cruise staff didn't help us with our luggage, with the result that we had to carry it ourselves. Incidentally, on the day we arrived, the cruise staff had helped us with carrying our luggage. It apparently looks like that once they got the tip we gave them before checking out, all courtesy went out of the window!
Overall, it was a decent experience which could have been much better if only the cruise staff had been more courteous and pleasant.
My advise to potential travellers would be to look for other cruise vessels before choosing on this one. We also noticed that on the day of check-out, when we had to leave the vessel rather early in the morning to catch our flight back to Cairo, passengers from other cruises were provided take-away breakfasts. In Granada, no such thing was done. Small measures these may be, but they go a long way in making a trip pleasant and comfortable.
