Etoile Du Nil II & III

We went onna 14 night 5 star stay with flights and packages. The hotel at Hurgarda, The Titannic Beachcould so easily have been heaven on earth if only they got the food right. When we complained they pulled out all the stops to put things right, to the point of getting one of their chefs to cook for us personally one night, but the honest truth is that they just can not cook European style. If the cooking was right this hotel would be superb in every other way.

The nile trip was really only 3 star it was Angelhotel and everyone was complaining about the tasteless food, stomache problems and that the boat was so tired. Egypt itself, the sights were exceptional. If only the hasseling would stop we would buy so much more and enjoy their culture. I shall not return but would not have missed the wonderful sites.

My wife and I spent a really enjoyable week aboard the Etoile du Nil III. This is not one of the huge floating hotels you see on the Nile. It is recognisable a boat with just 50 cabins or so and we really liked the intimate scale. Despite the small size there is enough sitting and lying space in full sun or shade for guests on the upper decks and a nicely decorated bar/disco.

Our main deck cabin was a decent size with comfortable beds and just about enough storage.

The staff were all really helpful and friendly, although the entertainment provided wasa bit naff.

The food was better than OK with plenty of choice and lots of fruit and vegetables. Overall it was a bit boring, but this is true of Egyptian food generally.

The excursion package (booked before travel) was excellent value and well organised with an impressive guide/Egyptologist who provided clear explanations and knew when to stop talking and let us do our own thing.

Etoile Du Nil - trips were expensive and entertainment was a bit poor but staff and crew were great, beer was 3 pound a bottle, same as uk, food was nice and well prepared, one thing did put me off but its the norm every whwere was the tipping, dont pay for the excursion to kombo as the temple is on the dockside and you can walk to it,

we had a very lovely stay with Etoile Du Nil II & III, thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming and made us feel right at home.

Once again Egyptian hospitality has impressed. The facilities on the etoile Du Nil ship and the holiday itself has been without doubt a fantastic experience. The staff are friendly, welcoming and ensure each guest has a holiday to remember. With this kind of hospitality it ensures guests will return to Egypt again and again

The Etoile Du Nil holiday in general was very pleasant having been the second i have been on. I would definitely consider returning again.

We had a smashing time on this ship. our room was top class with clean towels and clean rooms every day, the food was excellent, we were first and waiting every day, the choice was fantastic and always hot, the crew were the best, always available and did whatever you asked, well done Etoile Du Nil II & III.
