Poor Show
Did a 10 night R.C.I. on the Navigator and thought that the Grand Princess would be of the same standard...WRONG! We booked this one through CRUISE SAVERS TRAVEL as they were running a train service from Glasgow right through to the ship at Southampton.CRUISESAVER were fantastic, the service on the train was fantastic as was the food. Will book with them again but not onto a Princess ship.On the first night aboard the door which separated our balcony from the one next door came free of its lock. as it was windy the door spent almost an hour crashing wildly from side to side before a fitter arrived and jammed it with a bit of wood ! It was then that we noticed that the bottom framework of the balcony screen had eroded and was exposing sharp and ragged edges on which our 5y/o son was in danger of serious injury. An hour after reporting this the door came free again and two fitters came this time and used bigger wedges of wood to sort the problem. We also had to ask for the balcony to be cleaned on our arrival as there was cigar ash all over the table. Next morning saw the fitter return yet again, this time to fix the safety rail on the bunk bed as one end of the rail was not tight to the bed...the bolts were loose. Day three and the fitter is back, this time to fix the plug in the sink which is jammed in closed position, leaving us with a sink full of dirty water. He pulled the plug up but did not fix the problem which happened several more times in the coming days but we opted to push a nail file down the side each time instead of bothering the fitter further. On the food side of things, it was ok but only that, and with not near the selection that the R.C.I ship had on board. On the three nights that we went to the dining room our meal was interupted each time by the waiter trying to sell us an item from the specials list for that day . we found this intrusive and annoying.Drinks prices were well on the high side.Entertainment was ok.
The kids club we found however to be first class. Our son who is five has Aspergers syndrome which is a form of Autism and a club environment of this sort would normally stress him in a big way. The young lady in charge of the club (Dawn) was first class. She made my sons holiday and thus my wife and i had some quality time together. Many thanks Dawn. All the staff etc on board were friendly and polite but in simple terms the Grand Princess will never be The Navigator Of The Seas.

Me And My Family Travelled With The Princess Compa
Me and my family travelled with the princess company this year, it was our first cruise and we was very very happy with it. Food was amazing, constantly cleaning and putting out new food throughout the day so you no it is always clean and fresh! Our Cabin attendant couldnt have done more to help us, All staff were very polite and couldnt put a foot wrong. Although there is many pools they were always very crowded but this is expected but could always manage to find a sun lounger. I recommend going into the explorers lounge a lot as is very entertaining- quizzes, karaoke, etc. Also recommend an outside balcony room as we used it a lot during the holiday. Guaruntee you will not find a family member bored with teen clubs, childrens clubs, adult spas and the gym. Also liked how you could get off the boat and the staff will take pictures of you and family or freinds which you can later purchase. Would definatly recommend to anyone.

We Booked This Cruise As It Advertised "family Shi
WE booked this cruise as it advertised "family ship values" we have two young girls 7 & 6, I will keep this short, It is not a family ship, we were moaned at by all!!! There is no entertainemnt for the children other than a small kids club, which my daughter picked up nits!! What fustrates me more is there are Adult only crusies and yet people moan about the children. ALL I HAVE TO SAY TO THESE PEOPLE BOOK AN ADULT ONLY CRUISE, I did not complain about the slow elderly people who jamed the lifts, took forever to find seats, walked around like tomorrow would never come, hogged the dance floor, thought they had missed a vocation in life by singing at Karoke(if thats what you call it), No, I just accepted that I had booked a cruise with all types of life. I one day will be old, just like those who are old were once young. GET A LIFE THOSE WHO MOAN, Book SAGA!!! If you dont then dont complain.
I found this review not helpful because...i found the parents of children as badly behaved as them. you do not expect children to be bounding up and down decks at midnight and after, or playing football in the lift areas,or deliberately splashing people who were relaxing on sunloungers round the so-called adults only pool, and being abused by their parents when asking them to stop. Yes I will book an adults only cruise next time

now i did enjoy it,you couldnt fail with nice weather, food and great ports to visit.BUT,ive been with royal caribbean 3 times and decided to try this instead.nowhere near as good.entertainment was terrible, daytime activities poor, running track disappeared to make way for nice but money making santuary.im a betting man, casino staff, apart from 1 girl, miserable as sin.no atmosphere.seen better days with some things on board but still had nice holiday, just catered for 60 plus more than us with life in us.the daytime entertainment staff seemed uninterested really, just a chore.went to basketball tournament, lasted 5 mins then she was off looking at her watch.sort these bits out and it would be great

First Time For Me And My Wife (no Kids On Tow) The
First time for me and my wife (no kids on tow) the most amazing two weeks ever. Anyone who says this cruise wasnt good will never be satisfied,we found crew and time on board fantastic. The only fault were the normal ibiza holiday makers throwing up two eight towels on the sun loungers before anyone gets up otherwise well done princess cruises we will see you in 2011.baz and sheenagh Adams.( thought i might have won the karaoke though)

As This Was Our First Cruise, We Were Concerned To
As this was our first cruise, we were concerned to read previous reviews. However, we had a fantastic time. We did not see any signs of the ship being in poor condition other than a little rust on the balcony area. We opted for anytime dining and there was often a wait of around 20 minutes for a table if we wanted to dine alone, however this was not a problem. The self service Horizon Restaurant was a little more chaotic and it was often difficult to find a table, however it was good that you could help your self to tea and coffee 24 hrs. All staff were friendly. We would definately return to this ship.

Had The Best Holiday Ever So If You Have
Had the best holiday ever so if you have booked this ship ignore the negative reviews!
Food was exquisite and the 24 buffet served anything you could desire at any time. Entertainment on the whole was very good and varied my teenage daughter was thrilled to be in the Princess Star final on the last evening.
Staff were attentive throughout. Our only complaint was the amount of sun-beds available and the ridiculous prices of the spa. Will definately be travelling with Princess again-hopefully next year!

Family Group Of My 70year Old Parents And 13 Yr Ol
Family group of my 70year old parents and 13 yr old son and this suited us all. Waiting staff always very helpful, did anytime dining and that worked well. Entertainment great (bar one dreadful comedian), cruise companies shows were excellent. Cabin was always spotless and 4th bed was actually a bunk not a double sofabed which was better. Main complaint would be that the ship was too cold, all public rooms required an extra layer even though the temperature outside on some days was 30! Buffet was very busy but we always managed to get a table, most problems were caused by thoughtless people, particularly couples occupying large tables that they didn't need.
We travelled just after their major norovirus outbreak and there was extra attention being paid to hygiene, were not aware of any illness on our cruise.
Would certainly consider travelling with Princess and using this ship again.
