Isle of Wight, Chine Farm, Atherfield

This campsite is nice and open eith cracking views over the southern cliffs of the IoW. Sunsets are awesome! It is very basic in many respects but the toilets are clean and functional as is the washing area.

When we were there it was reasonably empty. It has two large fields that are nearer the main rd which is where we stayed. It was not noisy. We pitched here rather than in the more desirable fields that overlook the sea due to the weather. The whole site is pretty exposed and after a reasonable first day that night the storms moved in for the next couple of days. It was really, really windy. Was so glad that I was not in a tent.

We were unsure as to if wanted to stay for the whole time (4 nights) and were considering just heading for home and the owner was very understanding. She even advised us not to pay for the whole stay (as agreed) so if we got sick of it we could leave! She was really lovely.

I really like the location of the site as it was a little away from the larger towns but, like everywhere on the IoW nothing is far away so we easily crusied around in the day time.

Would recommend, especially if the weather was good!
