This Is A Follow-up From My Previous Review. I Hav
This is a follow-up from my previous review. I have been going to Wellington for a couple of years now mainly because it is conveniently close and has a good park for the kids to play in. I was recently there in June 2008 and paid £25.00 per night for a premium site which is supposed to include a barbecue and a wooden table and bench plus electricity. When we arrived there we discovered that they had removed all the barbecues and have allowed other campers to pick up the benches and take them to their pitches. Evidence of the discarded chain and padlocks remain behind. I have also previously used a dinghy near the side of the lake in the previous years, only to be told this time that the lake is now out of bounds to everyone as it is now under licence from an Angling Club and they can no longer insure me. The children's animal corner that they were supposed to fix a year ago has still not been fixed and the crazy-golf course which they charge for, half of the holes have their soft surface missing so a hard metal surface remains (hardly worth paying for). I just don't think it's worth me camping there anymore. It was definitely better a couple of years ago when they had a proper camp warden, you don't even see one anymore.

I Have Been To Wellington Country Park A Few Times
I have been to Wellington Country Park a few times and we always enjoy ourselves there. There is an open camping ground where the surface is softer and there are individual camp spots for bigger tents, caravans and tourers.
The park is well managed and I have never seen any trouble there. There are normally a lot of kids that play in the playground. It is more expensive than other camping grounds but also includes the cost of entry to the park, where there is a lake and different playgrounds. I normally bring a dinghy and the kids bikes.
