We Have Had Several Tents Over The Years, But The

We have had several tents over the years, but the build quality of this is first class. I was not put off by the other reviews on this site regarding snapping of poles. If it erected correctly tensioned enough but not to the extreme, the poles are fine. As with all equipment, if you mistreat it - it will fail! Very dry no issues and during a windy night, the Vango's on the site were undamaged. You get what you pay for!

Vango Oregon 800 -extremely well thought design apart from the poles!!!! They snap all the time. 1 snapped on our second trip, then 3 went on the same afternoon a year later. It ruined our last trip of the year. The next tent we purchase will have steel poles!!

I Liked The Size And Ease Of Putting Up The Vango

I liked the size and ease of putting up the Vango Oregon 800 tent. First time managed to do it on my own but is easier with help. very comfortable with footprint and carpet everyone who has seen it is impressed. I call it my house extension because of the large family space it provides.

very easy to put up. large living space even though we are only 3 in our family it allows for my son to bring friends or cousin in the future on holiday with us. Plenty of ventilaion and loveley light and airey.

It nowhere in the instructions tells you how to fold the tent to get it back into the bag. We had big problems with this to begin with without my sister who has camped more managed at last to get it in. The only other small personal preference fault is the big one piece inner tent goes in front of the end openining meaning that if you wanted to leave one cabin down and use it as an exit it is not so easy.

We first got our Oregon 800 in 2007, (built in ground sheet model), and used it over the May half term Hols in Dorset, during the memorable extremely bad storms. As testimony to its build quality and durability, the Oregon was one of the only tents left standing and in fact we ended up rescuing another family and provided them with accommodation after their similar but not as robust tent became a victim of the storms.

We stayed warm and dry and walked away with no damage to the tent and only extremely slight water ingress which was mainly due to rain blowing in as we went in and out of the tent. The tent is spacious and easily erected and taken down again. Buy one, you wont go wrong! Not really any bad points but it would be nice to have a door either side, instead of just the one side although obviously the end does open as well. It would also be good to have a porch type entrance so that you can leave wet / dirty wellies etc outside of the main tent. That is just being nit picky though as we are more than happy with all aspects of the tent and would thoroughly recommend it to others as a family tent.

I love this tent. My pals had a Vango Diablo, which is a superb tent but needs quite a few people to erect it! I think Vango make fabulous tents and would definitely recommend all their products. If you need a large tent you can erect on your own, ideal for single mums or dads, buy this one but only the 2007 model!

The Vango Oregon 800 Is A Great Tent, And I Would

The Vango Oregon 800 is a great tent, and I would thoroughly recommend it. You can stand up throughout most of the tent, including the sleeping compartments (something which isn't true of many tents). The sides are essentially vertical, meaning you can put items up close.

It doesn't have an inner tent in the living area, but all the tents that do that I have seen at outdoor exhibitions seem to get damaged quite easily. In my view this arrangement avoids damp in the UK climate, and offers better air circulation in hot regions such as France.

What can I say? It is a thoroughly good buy for the money!

Browsing the web for a new tent and came across this one. Local tent supplier has this tent for £135. Think I will invest. Great review, thanks.
